Report: Im gonna try the back ponds tomorrow. I see that you guys are getting skunked. Nothing like getting skunked. What do you guys usually use? I always have tons of success with brush hogs and senkos in the arroyo. Most of the bass I catch are in the weeds. Nothing really near the trees or bushes. However, the small island pond is a whole different story. I usually try using a crankbait as slow as can near the tulles at the end of the pond. Even though there are tons of weeds over there, I still manage to catch a lot on a crankbait. Also, I throw texas rigged brush hogs(I prefer pumpkin seed & watermelon candy), senko's and if you want to catch a real big one the yum watermelon zallamanders are the way to go. I dont go to shadow cliffs a whole lot but when I do, I have pretty darn good success.

Report: Fished the back ponds last weekend for 15 fish in 2 days. I caught one fish that I've never seen before. It was about 17 inches long and had a pretty large mouth with tiny sharp teeth. It's body was white and had very big scales. It had a long and slender body. What the hell was it?

Report: Zack, read the old reports and you'll get a clue. There's tons of great cover in the two ponds. Walk on the dirt road next to the parking in the far end of the parking lot and the first pond you see is the arroyo. Then walk farther on the path and you'll see the Small Island pond. Fishing is always good here.

Tips: Watermelon Candy Baby Brush hogs work best.

Report: I fished about a week ago. Caught 6 bass and three of them were around 3 pounds each. All of the bigger fished were caught on a texas rigged watermelon zalamander. Missed a lot of fish too, including a big one that snapped my 16 pound test line. Caught the rest of the fish on brush hogs and a 3x strike king worm. Yea those dogs are annoying. They gotta do something about those dogs jumping in the water and messin up the fishing. It seems like every time I go fishing here, there's dog's barking and swimming in the water.

Tips: I say the arroyo is just as good as the small island pond right now. I recommend the watermelon color YUM Zalamander if you want to catch bigger fish. I caught tons of big fish on that bait including a 10 and 7 pounder in the same day. Anyways

Report: I went to the lake a week or so ago. It was nice to get back out on the water. I tried a 1/8 pumpkin jig with no hits. Missed on a black senko. Caught a couple on motoroil senkos each maybe 2-2.5lbs. A little slow, but fishing is fun. I really need a float or a boat. I really want to fill a limit or catch one of those lunkers!

Tips: I wish the fish were really active close to the shore! Good luck

Report: I went to Tri-City and asked about some good lures. The guy there told me about senko worms and said that they work wonders. He was right! I was out midday and I got one in the back lake. I wonder why the thing works.

Tips: I casted and sort of jerked the bait every once in a while, really slow like. I tried Watermelon, Black and Brown. Brown works!

Report: I am part of a fishing club at school. I've fished for a few months. Unfortunately I am the only ones whos actually caught fish. I hear that spring time is the best time to be out at the lake. Does anyone have tips for fishing the lake?

Tips: You scratch my back, i'll scratch yours

Report: This isn't a report, really. Just a question. I was looking at the eb parks website and I saw another report about trophy bass. Is this place really that great?

Tips: Maybe a swimbait? Maybe a jig? Who knows?

Report: It was a little foggy when i hit the back lakes. Fished from shore using senkos, a spinnerbait, kreature, and a jig. Only caught one 12"-14"er because i spent most of the morning searching for people who were supposed to meet me. one got fined.

Tips: fish hit 5" black senko (again). no hits on kreature but im not going to give up on it. no hits in the arroyo, except near the trees, or was i snagging branches? they really need a trail that surrounds the island pond. i cant afford a floater right now.
