Report: Went out around 2:00 yesterday aternoon, the "shad bite" is in ull orce. The only way I could get em to eat a jig is by throwing parallel to the vertical banks, working it out horizontally has just died, I had been getting at least one ish over 3 pounds or a month, last 3 times no such luck. Dropshotting and 1/8oz dartheads or suspended ish or numbers, I havent thrown much topwater because o the time I have been on the lake. Next week I'll go out early or that, and I will try to stay with blades and cranks during the day.

Report: God Bless America. May we remember and prayer or each other every day. Started out Wed. morning optomistic and somber. Fished topwater on some o my avorite places, no blow ups. Ripped some okay ish on a Staysee Pointer Minnow using 8lb. line. It seems to help. No jig ish. Started point hoping up the Sac. and graphing bait. Resorted to dropshsoting with a #39 idget(a kind o mini 3" slugo, a 4" worm worked just ine too). Ended up with a numbers day and not a size day. Water is getting clear and reaction bite was tough, even with overcast skies.
      City: Shasta Lake

Tips: I your normal stu is dying try dropshoting on some main lake points. I you don't know how to dropshot e-mail me and I'll try to help. Phil's can also set you up with whatever you need. God Bless. Rob.

Report: Launched at Packers Bay 6:00 a.m. Looked like there was a night tourney as I saw several boat lights on points as I drove over the Pit River bridge. As I was ishing waiting or sae light I saw another tourney (about ity boats) coming out o Bridge Bay. Skiers are going, tourneys are coming. Gave them some space and popped a 2-9 and a 2-14 on a Super Spook (blue back). Fish came between eight and ten on main body points around Ski Island. Since I didn't have anyone with me I continued throwing Mr. Spook the rest o the day. Not so smart. Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. I anyone wants to buy a Cameron Rod I would think twice about it. I swung the 2-14 in on a 7' medium-heavy action Cameron and snapped it in hal. what a joke. Lake was pretty busy and dead calm. My jig ish were all small, hence going or it with the Spook.
      City: Shasta Lake

Tips: Super Spooks are very versatile. They can also deter those ew pesky jet skiers that remain. Can I say that?

Report: I thought I was on Clear Lake today with all the wind. Houseboat was camped where I wanted to start. Don't you hate that. Oh well. Found some bait but no reaction bites. Bite was slow to start with. Picked up ish in iteen eet or the most part. Two best were 3.4 and 3.6 o the same wind blown point. Not a bad day considering the 30mph wind. All ish came on wind blown points on 1/2 oz. brown or pumpkin jigs. Slow bite. I just through it out and kept a little tension on it. I am married to a great ga. She bought me (another) Loomis IMX today. Should I be suspicious?

Ten minutes later ive pounds our oz. on a Super Spook. Did I orget to say that this was a double? ( Two two pound ten oz. ish on one cast). Made you look. One more two plus on a jig and it was over or me. Lots o short bites on my jig and no more topwater. Spooned a couple deep but no size. Lake started to get busy. Report: Preished or the Anglers Choice tournie hal o Saturday and the tournament Sunday. Could not buy a topwater bite. We ished main lake points and got bit drop shotting and throwing jigs. Most o the ish were 15-30t and were spitting up 1/8" shad. Biggest ish or two days was a measly 2.5lb spot. First place in the tournie said they were "rippin" and second place was throwing jigs. Both teams had 10lbs or ive ish. We also ished a little riday night throwing jigs. Given the chance this is when I would ish. We got better ish and more bites
      City: Petaluma

Tips: Most o the main lake points have ish but we got more bites on points with a lot o bait. We got more bites where we could see the bass chasing bait on the graph.

Report: In at Packers Bay at 7:30 a.m. Started looking or baitish and wasn't hard to ind. Graphed ish under bait on mainlake points. Best technique was dropping jigs right on their heads in about 20 to 25 eet o water. Plenty o decent ish (1.5 to 2.0) but no toads. Caught most o my ish by graphing them irst and just letting it sit in ront o them.

Report: Shasta County's sheri's oicial's bend over to please skiers. Their decission to overturn the recent skiing restrictions relects their total lack o respect and consideration or the numerous pleasure baoters and isherman who are continuosly harrassed by the rude, obnoxious, and illegal behavior o wakeboarders, skiers, and jet skiers. The sheris department is unable or unwilling to even enorce the existing rule and regs. Since less than 5 percent o the lake is set aside as 5mi. per hour or no ski it is hardly asking to much to set aside a little more. .

My wie only caught one and sat there quietly getting soaked and letting me ish, Ater no. 12 she said to take her home. the Sac arm is much clearer than the Pit or squaw creek and Steve and I are headed that way in the morning. Great aternoon and evening bite, just so/so in the morning
      City: Redding

Tips: good results with brown jigs, the MGM109,127 and the #89. spooks and the pointer minnow in aurora black are productive in the morning.

Report: 4 day house boat trip with some ishing buddys and what a great time! This is a BIG BIG lake. Nailed them on Thurs and Fri with yellow and white spinner baits. Limping Lew nailed 22 or the day on his trusty yellow spinner bait with a nice 2lb bronze back as the topper. Also took a couple o mutts on grubs. Saturday & Sunday the bite was almost completly shut down. Probably should have gone deeper as we stuck to the topwater stu; hindsight being 20/20. Wondering o there are any big bass in this lake? Our topper was 2.5 lbs ater boating around 50.
      City: San Francisco

Tips: keep changing lures even i you nailed them the day beore. When they stop, switch it up....wish I did.

Report: didn't post my activities last week as I had a ew riends ishing Newbass yesterday and 100% today so here goes, I started noticing a mass exodus o bed ish on the 10th thru the 13th, went out monday the 14th and one cove I was ishing looked like the Oakland Coliseum ater a Raider Game, just a ew stragglers let behind, we are deinitely post spawn, tuesday the 15th greeted me with ideal conditions, light rain and very little wind, my irst ive went 18.1 and my best 7 went 23.1 on a brown jig(the biggest at 4.2) the rest came on the MGM 127 4inch and a MGM 109 3 inch reaper, wow, what a morning that was. Wednesday and thursday were mostly dinks with a 3.8 on thursday, early am ish were out o a oot to 18t, later ish were 15-25t and one came out o 70 t but suspended at about 35 eet, the lake is dropping quickly and is now at 23.4 t with some great mudlines orming with all the wind we have had, we are moving towards the typical summer pattern, My riend Ralph White (the guy that got his butt kicked by Robin Lentz) redeemed himsel yesterday with the assistance o his partner, Bill McLaughlin, by bringing to the scales a 21 plus limit anchored by a 6.05 and a 5 plus spot, the New Bass winners had a lttle better than a 22 lb limit. I ur coming this way be prepared or the wind, a major high pressure system is continuing to build and the north winds will continue. I want to say HI to Carol and Steve Pendill, they got a new trolling motor and now I can't hear them coming, the last one sounded like a stern wheeler on the Mississippi, Carol the bears are down now, (we sent u a photo) so u will have to check in at that motel we told you guys about.
      City: Redding

Tips: start looking deeper as the day wears on, the MGM 127 4 inch and a MGM 109 in the reaper shape is working good, top water will still work i ur out their when its only pink out in the am. I am usisng a 5inch suspending jerkbait in a rainbow trout pattern, a riend is having success with a small white blade with hammered nickel willow leas.

Report: Fished Shasta Saturday and the reason I waited to post is aconlict o interest in some locals ishing WON Bass Team onthe lake. Jerry, was right the ishin' got a little more sensitive or some reason but or my pure enjoyment o the luke bite that can be had this time o year I decided to stick with it. The morning at all the "hot" willows I hadcaught 15lb limts in the weeks past had went dead...couldsee the ish comin' up to the bait and turnin' (this is notan unusual occurrence and it seems to run in cycles in certain areas or times o the day or month..I decided to runup the Squaw to ish the clis in the shade and all hell broke loose to this pattern..I ended up with two over threepounds and many solid two's!!! Yes, these spots do spawn oncli lines as well on ledges with some gravel. Came backto ish some o my willows (never give up on the producitiveones) and some o them began to produce late in the aternoon..ended the day with near 14lbs. Next week the big gals should start lockin' on the beds. Did not see the"cruisers" I'd seen in weeks past but one spot I caught atover 2lbs had six bass come up with her as I hooked her thatwere well over 3lbs and one that was in the pack that waswell over ive.
      City: Redding

Tips: I you like the luke bite you got to stick with it!!!!Calm water is not the best need some ripple and/or wave action to assist the pattern o luke ihin'and hold on toyour rod as the big ones like to yank it out o your hand!!!
