Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out early this morning around 6:50am. First cast and slammed a 4lber on a Triple Trout. 10-15 cast later slammed another one. 6lbs. Get out now!!!!!!! Love these $$$ swimbaits. But they work. Caught 3, 1-2lbers on a "Gene Larew Biffle-O Lizard Blk" split shotting. Left lake @ 1pm. GOING BACK!!!! jimmiejimmiejohnjohn

      Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On water from 2:00-5:30pm. Cloudy, light winds, off-and-on rain. Nice weather change. Worked the Beals area again. Caught 3: two 2 lb spots at 15' and a 2.5 LM at 28' on dropoff coming off a shallow flat.

Tips: Look for bait ball + fish patterns on graph, then drop your bait right there. The closer you hit the target, the better the bite. Light-colored plastics worked best for me. No swimbait or crank bites.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out yesterday after work for a few hours.First stop was no name reef. I was quickly greeted with some jackoff in a pontoone boat that thought I was on his ,"spot".He pulls up right next to me and gets ready to throw his ancor.I go,"why dont you just tie up to my boat" he goes "maby I will" I told him its a big lake there is pleanty of good water! He finally backed off and I stuck a keeper In front of em and bailed. Some guys have no respect.Anyway,I went over to Rocky point and threw my brush-hog up to the rocks and popped it out with good results.I had five or six nice keepers before dark. But after dark Is is when the fun began.I started throwin the swimbaits and stuck a fat five on my third cast.I stayed in the same stretch of water for the next Hour and a half and ended up stickin around twenty fish over two pounds,a few of em went 4lbs or so! Not bad for three hours of fishin!
      City: lower lake

Tips: Go fishing at night.Thats the only time the fish really bite lately, also, make sure all your gear is secure if you leave your boat in the water over night.I got ripped a couple of months ago. They took my Loomis GLX with a Viento and my Lammi crankin stick with Curado.Thats like $700!

      Water Temp: 63-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I had a wonderful trip last night - a client who brought along another client as a guest. Both could fish and made a great evening for the happy guide (except for all the rocks one of them caught)!! I can't remember in 30+ years a more beautiful night at Clear Lake in late Oct. We only needed jackets and the lake was a pane of glass - not a breath of wind. The night was dry too - very little dew on the seats. That always means better night fishing - at least in my boat. We started out of the Oaks at 5 pm and never boated a fish before dark - lake was dead! We planned to fish the new moon night and it did pay off! The "guest" went right to work after dark and boated the first - 3 3/4 lbs. The guest back seater landed 9 of their 14 in the boat but the middle guy settled for big fish at 6 lbs 2 oz. I caught 2 making our fish total at 16 and our 5 best a little over 24 lbs! We also had 2 bass between 5 1/4 and 5 1/2 lbs. It was a brush hog night - that is the bait they wanted. We fished from Windflower Point to Ferndale Marina. The best bite was from 8 pm to 11:30 pm. We missed about 7 or 8 - these guys landed most of their bites - good job! (except for the snagups, har)!!! Actually, catching the bottom a lot meant they were fishing correctly - fishing slowly and keeping their bait in touch with the bottom!
      City: Yuba city

Tips: It is simply amazing that the water temp has basically remained steady for the last two weeks, mainly because of lack of the normal colder nights. This weekend should see a change and fresh rain should give the bass a shot in the arm! We caught fish from 2 feet down to 35 feet, so, what can I say - vary your approach. On steep banks they seemed to be shallow and on gentle dropping structure they seemed to be deep. Most of our quality bass were deeper however - 15-20 feet or more. Water has to get colder before large bass make a move to the shallows - at least generally speaking. At dusk we saw the bait sitting on the bottom at 30 feet. After dark we saw some on the surface but not as many as in previous trips. I tried some topwater and swimbaits at dusk to see if my clients should be doing that - not a sniff. No birds, no carp, no bait, no nothing before dark!! After dark we did see another bass boat with 15 black lights on the side - actually only three! No problem seeing the bank - he could have been the lighting for a Hollywood movie!

Report: On the water at 2:00 pm, went to large cove past pt. west of Digger Bay. Started cranking with Rapala's had 8 fish to 1 1/2 lbs about 45 min. We even caught 2 fat trout in cove, about 6 more smallies & spots in next hr. Decided to troll lures back to marina and dam area. Released all bass but picked up another 7 trout to 3 lbs on Fat raps, shad raps and countdowns. The hot area was between dam to marina. Lures trolled behind boat about 100' ft. Bass were on pts 5 to 10 ft deep. Trout were a nice bonus for dinner.
      City: S.S.F.

Tips: Blue chrome, silver countdowns first 8 bass, then we used crawdad and chartruse white fatraps and shad raps that caught 7 trout and another dozen bass. Trolled the lures from 30 to 150 ft areas, no down riggers just the lures. Action packed 4 hrs. Next day in rain bass chasing bait in coves, same lures about 14 bass t0 2 lbs and 5 trout to 4 lbs. bass plugging, trout slammed lures trolled and lost a big one . Fish took lure to deep water and popped the line.

Report: On water 3-6pm off shore in Beal's Point area. Caught 3: 2, 2, and 1.5lb. Lots of bait balls in 12' to 30'. Had best bites in 15-20' just before sunset.
      City: Penryn, CA

Tips: Look for bait balls near dropoffs to deeper water. Try drop-shotting 4" light-colored worms to match pond smelt they are feeding on right now (every fish I caught was feeding on them).

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Pretty windy but fishable. Not outstanding fishing- just fair.
      City: Oildale

Tips: We fished the rocks mainly with plastics. Used darterheads and shakyheads. Most fish were 1 to 3 lbs. however we did catch 1 8 pounder. Take alot of tackle! We fished in 15 to20 feet of water.

      Water Temp: 62-65

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Well managed to get out on Tuesday the 28th...On the water at about 6:35 right at dark still and wanted to do some early topwater fishing but the wind was too strond and wouldnt allow me to. So instead i stayed right there and fished along the dam with reaction baits(something I;ve never done before) and it payed off nicely. i was throwing a 1/2 ounce white blade, and my partner was chuck a basstrix minnow swimbait. We fished about half the dam and came up with about 5 fish..3 on the blade and 2 on the swimbait, and one fish weighing 2.8 pounds. The wind died down on us from there, and let me tell ya...The lake is wide open right now! We then shot to a nice point on the main body and scoped more fish then i have seen in a long time. We went on to catch about12 fish off of it using jigs, shakey heads, and most came of the dropshot. You know with the water down the way it is, not only does it condense the fish, but more importantly it makes NEW structure and bank lines for these fish which are easy to key in on due to water level. We ended the day up the west arm beating the bank with shakey head worms using my personal favorite color on the lake which is morning dawn, and warmouth and probably caught another 20-25 fish easily..this lake is alot of fun right now, get aout there and make it happen before the water temp drops, and the fish begin to slow down! There VERY hungry right now.AND ACTIVE!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: This lake is fairly easy right now, most ALL of our fish were caught anywhere from 10-25 feet of water, the deeper fish came on dropshot. But we did have a few fish smack our tubes and Shakey heads very much up tight.(less then 5 feet) Anything platic and moved slow will pick fish up! The watre is a touch warmer on the main body which might have a little effect on the fishing.

      Water Temp: 68

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Boy the water sure is down I have never seen this lake this low stick ups all around the lake and the boat dock is out of the water so plan on getting a little wet and muddy to get in your boat. we got on the water at agout 10 am I caught my first fish on a frog patern pop R and 6 more drop shotting a margarita mutilator the biggest went 5 lbs we saw lots of big trout busting the water looked like they were chasing bait fish
      City: carmichael

Tips: just to let everyone know that they raised their prices back up to 35 bucks for 2 people to fish from your boat a little pricey since their ramp is in such bad shape

      Water Temp: 67

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took my boys up to the lake for short trip. Did not get on the water until 8:30 off at 1:00. Warm day and flat conditions made for a tough reaction bite. Only 9 fish total but we did get some quality bites on the brush hog. One spot at 3.5 one Small Mouth 4.0 and two of the Large Mouth over 2.5lbs. The rest of the fish around 1.0-1.7lbs. 5 best at 15lbs.
      City: Vacaville

Tips: It was tough for the reaction bite but I was able to find some shade when we started and got on some topwater. As the topwater died I picked up a few on the lipless crank. That was it for the reaction My 4 year old was on fire he cought the big spot and lost a big Large Mouth that looked around 4 plus. The big Small Mouth also came on a brush hog. The fish seemed to be a transition into a fall pattern but with this warm weather it has just not set in yet. It will pick up with the weather change later this week.

      Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: This past Friday I took Tom out for the day. We headed out towards the ranch house at first light.
We trolled from the Narrows towards the two points at the Ranch house. There was no surface
activity in fact the water was very calm almost too calm. It stayed that way most of the day. We
could see the bass but catching them was a different story. We tried everything but could not entice
them to bite until we tried a River2Sea jerk bait which finally produced a few small bass. We trolled to
the vineyards and being the water is so low we saw a lot of structure which should be helpful in the
future. It was a real slow day for us. On Saturday it improved a little more but not much. Albert and
I had a little more luck trolling. Albert landed a brown trout as we were heading out of the marina and
sure enough as we were heading back into the marina he landed another nice trout. We tried our crappie
tree that had been so successful last weekend but to no avail. My friend Al from Pacifica called me and
told me he had nine bites on Friday and landed four and on Saturday he caught fourteen bass on jigs fishing
Putah Creek along the points. Sunday I took his advice and went out for a few hours and ended up landing
six bass, two using brass & glass with a watermelon black fleck senko with six pound Pline and Procure crawdad
scent, two on a River2Sea crawdad and two on floating tube bait with splitshot. All my bass were caught on
the bottom using a very slow retrieve. There was no surface activity around me all day. It was a tough
weekend but still had a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy the photos. 'til next week..................good fishing!!!!!

Report: My buddy and I had a friendly competition today. We fished in separate boats and mostly different areas. I couldn't believe how clear Franks Tract was. I left that area after about 2hrs with no fish. I went up river looking for warmer water and hoping the large boats would cause the water to get some color. Caught one keeper on a persuader 1/2 oz spinner bait, a bunch of small dinks on a 5 inch clear grub, and a 6 pound salmon on a 6 inch grn pmp Senko!!

I left the main channel after catching just one keeper . I Met my buddy near our launch/check-in he had 2 keepers to my one. With 15 minutes left before check-in I nailed a 2 pounder on a drop shot and won the compitition. He was mad!!!
      City: W. Sac

Tips: ??? I fish against my buddy this friday. I plan yo call randy pringle for some tips. Due to the clear water, I probably will downsize and drop-shot a lot.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Found them today. We put 20 in the boat. Using 1/16 oz Texas rig 4 inch magic worms in 15 to 25 feet of water. Most fish came on sharp breaks of road beds and points dropping off into 30 feet or more of water. 1 LMB the rest 14 inch Spots ..... all twins. Took about 5 early, then worked other areas, came back in afternoon to area we fished in the AM, and the bite was on. Work the baits SLOW and very very light bite.
      City: Woodland

Tips: Slow is the rule, fish were hitting on fall off of the breaks into deep water. Super light bite. 1/16 oz weight, and 4 inch worm 10 lb test.
