Deep Cranking

Post by ttb31183 »

2016 was a deep cranking year for me. I have always loved crankbaits, but this year I got hooked on the deep stuff. 6XDs, 8XDs and 10XDs were almost a mission for me. I just received some of the Berkley Dredger series and hope they do as well as I expect.

If you aren't familiar with them, it is the new line of hardbaits and the deep crankbaits. It's not just how deep they dive but how small they are. The biggest one in the series is the 25.5 and like it sounds it should dive to 25.5 feet. If you look at the pic next to a 6XD you can see they are roughly the same size and I can get the 6XD to right around 20 on light line.

If they do run deeper with a smaller bait I am going to love them. What is your favorite deep crankbait?

This is the 25.5 and 20.5
