Lake Pleasant Fish Report 10-10-11

Post by Designer Bass Frogs »

The fish are moving up as the pumps are off and the lake is filling up slowly. Stripers are moving up with baitfish, best results are now in 30 to 50 feet of water in the front by the dam. Picking 3 to 4 pounds drop shotting frozen Anchovies in the depths previously mentioned.

Some strippers are being caught early morning using top water poppers. Best results are looking for Strippers boiling after shad and casting around them.

Largemouth’s are in the shallows from 2 to 5 feet. Picking up a lot of 3 to 4 pounders using shallow crank baits with square bills and rounds bills mimicking crawfish. Blue gill colors or hot along with red and green crawfish colors.

Top water is limited to early morning using Rio Ricco poppers for best results. Ghost Bluegill and silver are the best colors. Also picking up a few using Gunfish top water baits. Best results are throwing the poppers against the cliff walls and bringing them out using a 1, 1-2 pattern. Best spot for largemouth is Humbug cove back to the end of the creek.

Senko’s are also working dragging slowing through standing timber at the mouth of the river.

Water temp is in the mid to high 70’s but is cooling quick as the lake fills.
