The plate that the graph mounts on the ram mount will be wider then the 7......so you can cut it to size if it bothers you. The larger mount is better in rough water. If you already have it I would keep it......if you don't i'd still buy it.
My bow 7 touch is mounted on the long arm version of this mount and it works good for me.

I have my HDS-7 mounted on a RAM-111U at the counsel, works great no problem in rough water.
I use the RAM-D-111-C on my HDS-9 on the deck.
You can check Ram Mounts web site for info and pictures.
The 111-U is about half the price,Plenty strong,and fits perfect.

Where can I get the curved base Ram Mount? I just noticed you said bow not console. But I got mine from CC Marine in Citrus Heights
