Fishing Lake Oroville 10/06/15

Got an early start, never sure why I go so darn early. Launched at the Dam about 6:15 am, off the water at 10:30 am. Tossed worms working my way into the North fork. Bite was way off compared to last trip, not sure why other then the front that came though a few days ago. Had to work hard for fish t...

Fishing Oroville Lake 9/29/15

Launched about 6:30 am and headed to the middle fork, end portion, and tossed worms till 10: am. Decent bite today, but many smaller fish, seems half my catch was under 12"! even though I fished deeper then many do at 25-40 feet. Total 23 fish, only one 15" spot with about 2 14" the r...

Fishing Oroville Lake 9/23/15

Launched about 6:20 am today, headed to the west fork and glad I did. Wide open bite till I stopped fishing at 10:30 am. No big fish, but plenty of action tossing worm. Managed to catch 34 fish, largest fish a 14 1/2" spot, with most running 12-13". Quite a few LM mixed in, guessing about ...

Re: Bug Splatter

This sounds nuts, old detail shop trick, use 0000 steel wool, dry, works like a charm and does not scratch the glass a single bit.

Fishing Oroville Afterbay 9/7/15

Thought I give the afterbay a try with higher water levels, up to 135.5, the highest since I have been watching the water levels. For thos that don't know, you can check water levels by going to http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryF?s=TAB&d=today&span=24hours . I was completely amazed at...

Re: Fishing Oroville Lake 9/3/15

I have been launching at the spillway, gravel, decent ramp though, but should have 4wd to pull out the heavy boats. No problem, not a busy ramp. Steeper ramp then Bidwel. http://www.westernbass.com/forum/downlo ... w&id=14993

Fishing Oroville Lake 9/3/15

Tossed worms today with Russ, launched about 6 am, fished till about 10:30 am, and fished the middle fork, first time for me in this area. I'm amazed at how different the middle fork is from the N. fork. Going to fish the area more often now that I saw the structure. No big fish, but plenty of fish ...

Fishing Oroville Afterbay 9/1/15

Plenty of fish, just no larger size fish today. Launched a tad after 6 am, fished till 10 am. Tossed worms, light 1/16 oz Texas rig, and 1/8 Carolina rigs, worked the outside edge of the weed beds in 8-15 feet of water. Very active early, tapering off as the sun got higher. Best fish (picture) right...

Should be a great spotted bass bait. Nice, might have to try these.

Fishing Lake Oroville 8/25/15

Fished lake Oroville today as I do most every week. Launched about 6a m, fished till about 10 am. Slight breeze in the morning coming off the hills as it always does and the 10 am delta breeze as always. I managed only 14 fish today, hard locating schools for some reason. First location got 7 spots,...

Re: Top 3 Best Spinning Reel Secret Tips to Reduce Line Twists

Drop your line in the water, no weight, no nothing, at slow idle speed, let out line, 75-100 feet, and let the water take the twist out at the end of a fishing day. Idle around just a few minutes, wind in and all twist is gone. Good practice to do each fishing trip.

Low water Oroville

Low water has closed Lime Saddle. Last look, lake is down 195 feet from full pool. :(
