Any elite-level bass pro will confirm that If you ever hope to improve on your bass fishing skill sets, it is imperative that you break away from your known comfort zones, and put what you think you have learned to the test.
And while a steady diet of Delta/Clear Lake, Delta/Clear Lake, Delta/Clear Lake, may be as comforting as chicken soup on a cold winter evening, it does little in helping you build “depth” within your skill sets, and reach your full potential as a competitive angler.

To this end, the 2017 Future Pro Tour is pleased to announce that it will host the 2017-18 Classic championship on New Melones reservoir, and less traveled Lake Pardee – two lakes that will present monumental challenges to anglers participating in both northern and central regions of the tour.

Home field advantage - revisited

While some may think that home field advantage in this Classic falls on the side of the tour’s central region anglers, veterans know full-well that the FPT Classic event is a different animal all together, as it’s challenging, three-day, elimination format will require qualifiers to invoke both serious preparation and careful thought.

Do you burn though your fish on day one, or do you hold back and save a few, to make a run at the final day’s top-ten cut? Can you stay focused?...Have you fully prepared yourself and your equipment for the task at hand?...are just a few of the many questions that will consume the minds of Classic qualifiers and “mentally” even the playing field.

But 2017-18 Classic hopefuls can also count on another factor that will help even the play field, as this 15th anniversary season will see TWO NEW VEHICLES awarded – one for the highest finisher in each region, which increases the overall payout, increases each team’s odds of receiving a top prize by 50%, and insures that both regions are recognized for their efforts.

In addition to the 2 vehicles being awarded, Classic qualifiers will compete for over $10,000 in CASH!
The central valley region season opener kicks off Saturday, Feb 18th at New Melones, and March 25th at Lake Berryessa…so get your boats, gear, and minds ready to rumble…it’s showtime!

And the road to the Classic starts now!
