While JD is an expert speaker at ISE Sacramento, his tip is great for anybody using a fishfinder. Plus, the comments are funny! Thanks, JD!

Sonar Tip: I usually run my regular sonar split-screen with the Structure Scan (right side) looking down. With both transducers looking down, I can get two different views of the same thing, which helps me better interpret what I’m seeing.
In this pic, there’s stuff near the bottom that could be fish...but the Structure Scan clearly shows the branches of a tree.

Re: there’s stuff near the bottom that could be fish
But is there fish in the tree? haha

What tree? I see a small bush at 15'. Sometimes you need to remember scale, size matters.
