Reel American Heroes Foundation and Dick's...

Post by sTony »

OK folks the Reel American Heroes Foundation has purchased 30 of these tackle boxes from Dick's Sporting Goods today. However they still need to purchase 70 more for injured soldiers and disable veterans. Dick's has agreed to sell them a tackle box for each $10 donation they receive on their web site. Can you please help them out with... a donation this Holiday Season?

C'mon guys,

Let's help these folks out as they try and provide some fishing gear for some injured soldiers and disable veterans.

For only $10 dollars you can get them a new tackle box. For the cost of a launch, a couple of bags of baits (you get the picture) you can support those that have supported your freedom so you can fish!!

Mission: Reel American Heroes Foundation Mission Statement:

The Reel American Heroes Foundation is a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote recreational opportunities for active duty soldiers and retired or injured veterans of the United States Military. Our organization sets up weekend fishing events at Military Bases in the United States throughout the year. When the soldiers and their families arrive we provide all of them with free fishing equipment that they keep to further pursue the sport if they choose. On Saturday and Sunday morning all military related participants are paired up with volunteer anglers and taken out to fish an actual tournament. During each day, games, food and entertainment are all provided free of charge from launch to weigh-in. After the weigh-ins trophies are awarded to the top three soldiers (or family members) for the biggest fish in each category.

The Reel American Heroes Foundation would like to express our sincere thanks for the generosity you have shown us. I am proud to call each and everyone of you my friend, you folks are amazing. We are closing in on our goal of 100 tackle boxes thanks to each of you and I can see us reaching this goal by Christmas Day, what an amazing feeling to experience with this outpouring of support from westernbass.com. I can promise you that the injured soldiers and disabled veterans will be smiling when we hand them all of the free fishing equipment. I will be sure to post a thread here after the event that will have links to photos and videos. We would also like to extend an invitation to each of you that would like to attend our event at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, DC on May 21-22, 2011. Mr. Steve Parks Rage Tail Baits Designer will be attending the event and fishing with a soldier or veteran both days. We also have one Bassmaster Elite Series Angler that may show up to fish the event with a soldier if his schedule allows him the time. Once again, thank you vey much for your support.

With sincere thanks,

Here is the reason behind us forming the Reel American Heroes Foundation, to properly thank these brave men and women for sacrificing life and limb to protect us and our freedom. There is no better feeling then having an opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

Remember, this Christmas, while you are eating your dinners and laughing, that in another house there is an empty chair where a hero should be sitting. They gave their life so that you can sit with your family. So light a candle this Christmas for our fallen heroes that did not make it back ...and for those still serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, or elsewhere.

I figured I would share some financial information about the Reel American Heroes Foundation with those of you that made generous donations to us. Our foundation spent 93.09% of all donations received on "Program Services" (fishing equipment for wounded soldiers and disabled veterans). We are fortunate to be able to acheive numbers like these because our staff is 100% volunteer.

Thanks for your support,
Ronald R. DeFreitas
