Hey Fishahalic
What do you think Republicans would be saying right now if a Democrat POTUS has just nationalized one of the biggest insurance companies on earth?

The same thing we are saying right now... the same thing McCain said... this is socialism and, possibly, the beginning of the end for our democracy.

Re: Hey Fishahalic
It started in the 80s and no-one has done anything about it. This book has been predicting this for quite a while. In his words, "We are privatizing profits an socializing losses."
Business has learned, CEO's can make huge bonuses in the face of failure, run companies into the ground and the U.S. Taxpayer will pick up the check and neither political party will stop them because Wall Street pays for their campaign.
Barrack has no more economic experience than McCain and McCain admits to having none. Barrack is vague on giving answers and McCain runs to Phil Gramm for advise which makes the author Kevin Phillips shake his head in bewilderment.
Listening to him last night he predicts we're half way through it and haven't hit the bottom. He thinks we're in the equivalent of the 20's before the 1930's.
Most economists agree this has been fueled by greed on wall street and that sleaze took over. Everyone saw sleaze making more money than honesty but rather than control the sleaze factor, they added more sleaze into their companies to compete.
While being a disaffected Republican he did not have kind words for Democrats either.

I suppose someone like getalife would say a high school gym teacher told him it is always the dems fault and we would be discussing it right now. Who is this gym teacher anyways

I was watching some channel last night and some wall street guy said that the economy was days away from going belly up and completly collapsing.
I won't blame all this mess on the republicans because I am sure both sides had something to do with this but I will blame GW for spending billions of dollars a month destroying and rebuilding Iraq while our economy is on the verge of collapse.
I am sure it is just a strange coincidence that big oil and the likes of Haliburton types are the only ones flourishing now. Why do I have a feeling that GW will be on the board of trustees of some big oil company and Cheney will be back with Haliburton as soon as this nightmare of the Bush reign is over.

Theres a great source... "some guy on wall street". I do not believe that our economy will collapse, but it will take some time to recover.Fishahallic wrote:I was watching some channel last night and some wall street guy said that the economy was days away from going belly up and completly collapsing.

We'll see! I am not going to say this wont happen because the Bush administration has surprised me in the past. What I do know is that McCain is not Bush!

I should have added that this guy was saying the economy was on the verge of collapse if we did not do something drastic like a $1,000,000,000,000 + bailout.
True McSame is not Bush but he acts like Bush 90% of the time.
