Extended Warranty??

Post by Caudawg »

Any suggestions for purchasing an extended warranty for a Merc OB? My factory warranty ends at the end of July and I want to buy a new one.

Did you contact Mercury? I would call your local dealer and see what your options are.

Thanks Kevin and Ricky. I did call Mercury and they said their extended warranty prices are set and non-negotiable (pricewise) if purchased directly from them.

In CA, if purchased through a dealer it is negotiable.

Mr. Caulfield you might try looking in the newest edition of the Bass Anglers Guide they should have a few dealers in there that are Mercury dealers that can help you out if not get up at 5 am and listen to Ultimate Bass and all the dealers that advertise there are Mercury dealers........

I am getting worried about you asking these questions dude!!!

how is the new gig going?

Hey Kent. Things are going well at Bass Angler's Guide. It's been a while since I have sold advertising but it is just like getting on a bike. Looking forward to ICAST next week! We'll have to hook up down there for a coldy!

As far as extended warranties, I was mainly hoping to get input on the aftermarket vs. factory versions.

I did and you are correct. Thanks!

It is definitely better to get the factory warranty from a Mercury dealer like Capitol City Marine (at least in CA).
