FPT anglers get ready as biggest event of the year draws closer

The stage is set for the biggest event of the 2005 Future Pro Tour season, Saturday, August 13th on the California Delta. Brannon Island State Park will be the staging point in which FPT anglers will embark on their quest for the Future Pro Tour/Delta title and the lion?s share of the event purse.

Summertime is a great time to fish the California Delta in that the topwater action for BIG bass can be phenominal! Buzzbaits, poppers, and tossing the famous SnagProof Frog will be the ticket to catching huge summertime bass on the river, and you can best believe someone will bring a 10 pound plus 'hawg' to the scales.

'Frogmaster' Bobby Barrack, will attest to that fact, and actually demonstrates 'big bass' catching techniques on his popular froggin' video 'Hot Summer Days', on sale at most tackle stores throughout northern California. "The froggin technique for big summer bass seems difficult at first, but when you put a little practice time into it, and get your first huge blowup, it will make a believer out of you in a hurry"! Commented the multi-event Pro-Am/Delta champion.

As a matter of fact, the evening before the event at the People's Nissan/Isuzu dealership in the Stockton automall, the Future Pro Tour will host a pre-registration/seminar extravaganza featuring guest speakers such as:

§ Robert 'The General' Lee - 4-times B.A.S.S Open and Tour Delta Champion § Tony Franceschi - Top Delta tournament pro § Bobby Barrack - The delta's topwater and 'Froggin' expert § Andy Cuccia - One of the delta's best guides

Plus many, many, other pro anglers will be on hand to meet, greet, and give you valuable information on how to fish the river in the summertime. In addition, there will a BBQ feed, prizes and casting games for all the kids, free giveaways for tons of premium product, a big raffle for electronics, guide trips, SIRRUS satellite radios, gas cards, and much more! The pre-registration and seminar festivities start at 4pm so don't be late!

The Future Pro Tour - presented by People's Nissan/Isuzu of Stockton - is designed to offer the amateur-level angler an opportunity to learn the basics of competitive bass fishing, meet lots of great people, and just have fun. It's goal simply put, is to provide a venue in which the entry/amateur level angler can improve on their bass fishing skills in a friendly yet competitive environment. Requiring only a nominal entry fee ($80), participants are encouraged to share information, and be part of making our events a fun experience for all. The Future Pro Tour is a team format and features 2 divisions - Div I (0-90hp) and Div II (91hp and above), where anglers in each division fish for that division's prize money.

In Saturday's event we will also feature a Pro/Celebrity challenge - presented by Fishermen's Warehouse, in which money will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Sacramento for every team that posts a higher weight than the Pro/Celebrity team. This is not only a great opportunity to help our youth stay involved in positive activities, but is also your chance to 'put a whuppin' on the famous delta 'stick' and Fishermen's Warehouse manager Alan Fong as he fishes with basketball superstar Greg Ostertag. Talk about a fun event!

Reminder to all anglers wishing to participate in this event please get your registration in as soon as possible as we will limit the field of anglers for this event to no more than two-hundred and twenty five (225) teams. The total field will be comprised of 200 teams in the big boat division, and 25 teams in the small boat division (0-90hp).

Our goal is to ensure that participants enjoy the best tournament experience possible, and prior knowledge as to how many teams will be participating is one of the best ways to accomplish this goal. The host hotel for this event will be the Comfort Suites of Oakley (925) 755-1222), about 15 minutes from Brannon Island, where they will offer special rates to Future Pro Tour anglers.

So get them flippin' and topwater rods dusted off and join us for what will be the premiere Future Pro Tour event of the season!

See you all there!
