A gas saving pre-fish seminar featuring Dave Rush

ROCKLIN, Ca. - With the price of gas going through the roof, anything that can be done to reduce the cost of pre-fishing for a tournament certainly helps. And with the Future Pro Tour's Shasta Lake event right around the corner, it is for sure that many anglers are struggling with the decision of whether or not they can afford to make the long trek up to Shasta to pre-fish the weekend prior to the event.

To help ease the pain of high gas prices and to help FPT anglers reduce the time they spend away from home, on Sept 9th - the Saturday prior to the Shasta event, the Future Pro Tour will host a dynamic seminar featuring two of the west's and Shasta Lake's most talented anglers at West Marine Products in Rocklin.

This seminar will feature 4-time angler of the year and multi-circuit Pro-Am champion Dave Rush, who himself has won over 10 fully-rigged boats in his career (2 of them on Shasta Lake). The seminar titled: “Serious Dropshottin' on Shasta Lake using your electronics”, will be interactive, and is design to give you the best DETAILED instruction possible on how to dropshot fish on Shasta Lake in the late summer.

The lastest model Humminbird depth finders will be rigged up and installed with the most current Navtronincs topographical maps of Shasta Lake to give you the best possible real-time instruction. Dave will also share his personal preferences in dropshot worm colors and rigging techniques, and lake locations to help give you the best chance to “hold your own” during the Shasta event.

Another FPT pro-support staffer that will be on hand to help you cut back on the learning curve is finesse fishing expert and Ranger Pro Nate Lemons. Many FPT anglers new to the game may not know Nate and his fishing prowess on Shasta Lake, but this deep, clear water guru invented a radical darter-head technique called the "Nate Shake" which was featured in B.A.S.S magazine and is, to this day, an extremely deadly method to catch clear water bass. You simply don't want to miss the information Dave and Nate have to offer at this seminar.

Many other FPT pro-support staff members such as Fisherman's Warehouse manager Al Fong will also be on hand to meet, greet and provide 1-on-1 instruction for those that need help with rigging techniques and lake information.

TIP...To help conserve resources even further, some of you coming from bay area locations may want to consider coming up that Saturday morning to pre-scout/pre-fish Folsom Lake in preparation for the final FPT event of the season (just 3 weeks later). Then, when you get off the water in the late afternoon, you can drop by and attend the seminar at West Marine. This way you can 'double down" on conserving your resources!

The seminar will be from 5–7pm at the West Marine store in Rockilin located on 4445 Granite Dr in Rocklin (916) 632-9140. There will be a free BBQ and raffle for premimum tackle, and many samples of dropshottin' tackle given away to all that attend – even if you do not fish the event.

So bring your lake maps (with highlighters) and come join us for what is sure to be a fun and informative seminar!
