Anglers Marine "Ironman" Double Header series comes to Diamond Valley Lake

Hold on to you hats folks because the Diamond Valley Lake night events just got a major facelift. Throw in major sponsors like Ranger Boats, Mercury Motors, the stellar events that Anglers Marine produces, loads of cash, and a format unlike any other and you have a sure winner. With this in mind, WON BASS in conjunction with Rick Grover and the good folks at Anglers Marine have partnered to bring you the Angler's Marine "Ironman" Diamond Valley lake Double Header series.

"We are going to make this into the biggest team event in southern California", noted Rick Grover during a meeting to plan out the opening tournament of this series. "To do this, we are going to go to a "Doubleheader" split fishing day with a morning contest starting at 6am and running until 12 noon. The guys will get to take an afternoon break during which time we'll feed them a quality meal, hold raffle drawings, and have a sponsors row where they can see the latest products from the many WON BASS sponsors. Then, the field will once again hit the water at 4pm and fish until 10:30pm at which time we'll have a final weigh in and declare the winner of this "Ironman" contest."

"One of the advantages to this tournament as well is that it allows anglers to hit the lake during those special hours from 5pm to 9pm when the bite is at it's best" noted Grover. Daytime limit for bass will be 5 fish per team while the night time limit will be 3 fish per team. The tournament will feature a large, lighted tent with a drive through weigh in station.

"I think this is going to be a great time", noted Bill Hutcheson, WON BASS Tournament Director". "This is the perfect tournament format to play on the strengths of many anglers - some guys are good during the day, some guys dominate at night. Furthermore, this will certainly test the endurance of some of these teams. Heck, I know that I am going to have to pound some Cheetah energy drinks just to keep frosty during this 18 hour day. Whatever the case, I think the team that comes out on top in not only this first event, but the overall series will have really earned the respect of their peers."

In addition to the tournament, contestants can look forward to a casting contest to be held during the downtime between the morning and night fishing hours. Come try your hand at our devilish version of "Pass, Punt & Kick" to win one of several high-end prizes offered by our sponsors.

The first event of the Anglers Marine "Ironman" series will have a $500 entry fee and be strictly limited to a field of 85 boats.
