FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Any
angler can have a good year, but the best anglers are the ones that are
consistently great over time. Hence why Bass Rankings’ Major, Minor and Women
rankings all use a two-year criteria. Now, the Regional Ranking does, too.
When a
user scrolls over the Regional button on BassRankings.com, he or she can still
click any number of ranking options, including the “All Regional Boaters”
button, which is the main ranking for Regional anglers. Yet, once the rankings
come up the user will now notice both a one-year and a two-year tab.
“We’re
excited to launch the two-year Regional Ranking,” Bass Rankings Editor Sean
Ostruszka said. “Regional anglers are some of the most avid tournament anglers,
and they’ve been asking for a two-year ranking since we launched the Regional
Ranking in December, 2012.
“With
so many Regional anglers, there was a lot of data to organize, which is why we
launched with the one-year ranking originally. However, after an impressive
undertaking by our staff, we now have a two-year ranking for Regional anglers that
showcases the consistent talent needed to be one of the top Regional anglers.”
Anglers who will be ranked in the two-year Regional Ranking have
fished a minimum of eight tournaments in a two-year span on the following
tours/events: ABA Bassmaster Weekend Series Qualifiers, Regionals, and
Championships, and FLW Bass Fishing League Qualifiers, Regionals, and
All-Americans.
Currently, the No. 1 Regional angler in the two-year ranking is
Jamie Hartman of Newport, N.Y., with a score of 927.385.
