Posts are in order by date last modified. Bump puts it back to the top; kind of like reposting on Craigslist.

Re: Disabling surge brakes

Gotcha. Well, turns out I was too late. The shop already drained the fluid. Maybe I still need to put a weld on there. Yeah, I remember seeing your boat on the youtube videos and with everythng you had done on that motor, it was definitely a good price; I just got a deal I could not pass up on this ...

Re: Disabling surge brakes

So, did you also have this same problem then or what prompted you to weld that otherwise? Yeah, I know you have a 95 viper as well :). It was just a little out of my price range what you were asking at the time. Don't just drain it. The reservoir will rust immediately and reduce the value, should yo...

Re: Disabling surge brakes

Well hull weight is 1350 lbs according to nadaguides. yeah drain the fluid, that is a pretty small boat for surge brakes, i can see how that would cause a problem. Sounds like there is not enough forward inertia on the trailer and the small amount of pressure is just locking them up. 2000 is a small...

Re: Elite 5x dsi and Elite 5 dsi

I heard you can just either put one in standby or use different frequencies (455 as opposed to 800 khz) to eliminate this. Is this not true? Compare the cables and you should find that there is no difference between the two models. As for the interference question, when any transducer sends out it's...

I have an elite 5x dsi currently on console and very old Humminbird on bow. I just got an elite 5 dsi (gps) to put on the console and move the 5x to the console. Few questions: 1. I am assuming same transducers and hookups so I don't need to rewire anything on the console. Should simply be able to j...
