Re: VERY DISTURBING! Do you know where your tackle was made?

Ron, I can't believe you're just now finding this out. I bought two Shimano rods, and they say made in China on the butt wrapper. Lots of the stuff in BPS and Cabela's is from China. In fact, if you look at their apparel lines, most of it is imported, if not from China, then from Thailand. Kind of m...

Re: Hey Mark P. how was Cachuma

Ron, I saw the fry, too. Maybe the spawn will just stretch out over several more months. It sure is different, and I'm sure Ron C is right that all the new water, plus the mixed up weather, has really made the spawn an unusal one. I've never had that tough a bite in the late spring at Cachuma, but, ...

Re: Hey Mark P. how was Cachuma

It was tough. I was net boy for Jake viescas the first and second day. He caught two for 4+, and that had us in second after the first day. We got skunked the second day, and I think the winners, Ron Licari and Mike Carpenter, had something like 12lb. For two days. Like I said, it was tough. I think...

Cooch (sorry, longwinded)

I don't understand something. Why does the new forum format require additional oversight by you? I read what you said about sponsors. It seems to me that any new sponsor would be attracted by the number of participants, not by the contents of the threads. I think they call that ratings in T.V.. Sell...

Re: KNOT FOR BRAID TO MONO

If you're using mono backing, and a braid top shot of 100 yds or so, you'll probably never get into the mono backing. But if you do, a back to back Uni knot, wet before it's cinched, will be fine. Leave a 1/2" tag of braid. It's so limp, it won't matter. And if you do get into the mono, you'll ...

Re: Bassing for Abused Kids Charity Tournament Results

Ron, On behalf of me and my daughter Rachel, I just want to say thank you to you and all of the people who put this on. We had a great day on the lake, the raffle was a blast, and it feels good to be able help those less fortunate that us by doing something with my kid. I look forward to next year. ...
