They won’t open Capell until the water comes down past the over flow level. Few more inches coming this week and it’s still spilling over by a foot. Probably won’t see it open for a few more weeks.

I have neither of those rods but I do have a Dobyns 867. I throw my 11” Hiro trout (9oz.) and a few others with ease. It loads up perfectly for long casts and acts like a crank bait rod being parabolic. Very forgiving to the bait also during casts. Good luck!!

I’ve been there once in Dec 2017 when I bought my boat from a guy down that way. It was super cold and the bite was pretty good up shallow. We only fished for a few hours and caught a bunch of spots on the muddy flats and points on a Neko rig and drop shot. Real easy drive to the lake also.

Depending on what type of fishing you’re doing I’d recommend braid with mono or floro leader when needed. One size of braid can cover many applications.
