I had a chance to fish with Mark, and I will say this. He really loves fishing. He didn't have a tackle store in his boat. He didn't have every state of the art bait, rod, reel either. I have mostly Powell's, and the 735 to me feels like a broom, with the sensitivity of a broom.. so maybe the Dobyns would be nicer

Heading down there to prefish, and really trying to pinch pennies... We were going to set up a tent at Russo's, but they say the camp area is all soggy anyone have an idea of how to get by on low $$$ or charm? lol

I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but out of clear water, I don't think there is a better looking bass than the Alabama spot. I've been using a 734 powell... Only because when I use a bigger spoon, it's good.. smaller spoon.. still good.

I love the Danner Radical series.. you can even wear them out to dinner.. they don't look too bad. On cold cold days though, I think I'll opt for some better wool socks, cause your toes can get pretty frosty.

Josh, I don't know about the Dobyns, but I have the Powell 765, and I think it makes a good 'open water' flippin stick... But for punchin' or heavy heavy cover flippin, I would not use it... I know you can swim virtually any jig, but- I was just wondering if there were any that worked better for design reasons... Looking to have something I can work through the trees, or stay clean through the grass, and stay up when retrieving.
