From my experience, the reason you would downsize is to adjust your rate of fall of a bait. Bigger, heavier, line will have more surface tension and will fall slower through the water column. Now there are tradeoffs. The thinner line will allow a bait of the same size and weight to fall more rapidly...

I clicked on Johnny's Gamma link and noted the knots section on the Gamma site. Does anyone here use the 16-20 knot they show on this site? I'm assuming it's a good knot for fluro considering it's on the Gamma site? Sure is simple to tie and I like the little pop it makes when you tie it properly.....

If'n yer looking for the best buy fer yer buck, the Berkeley Transition is outstanding, and like Justin said, can be bought at Wal-Mart!!!!! Sounds like dead batteries ... check the water level of the batteries. If you're low and the batteries have been sitting in that condition fo r3.5 months. Go to Walmart and get yourself a set of the EverStart (yellow type) and charge it overnight.

You know I had to follow Mike :) Don't worry dude, you can do it. Just remember to put some silicone on your screws and you'll be fine. Measure twice, drill once. Oh ... yeah ... drill, hmmm ... make sure you have a bit that's big enough so that you can fit those plugs you'll need for your transduc...

For MY MONEY, I buy the Cabelas ProLine Fluorocarbon. Cannot beat that $25 for 1850 yards of 6# test or 1575 yards of 8# test. Plus their lines are EXCELLENT! Been using them for 2-3 years already.

Cooch, Yeah, I gave Vanish Transition a second, third chance because it is relatively soft line for fluorocarbon. I normally use 6 & 8# test on lakes w/ darthead and dropshot. You are correct that the heavier lines do not suffer from the knot issue AS MUCH. But ... there are other issues involve...

I've used the Palomar on Fluorocarbon since the day I started using fluoro. I never wet it, and I never have the knot break on my Sugoi or Transition 16-20# lines. I use the good old Trilenne or half cinch or barrel or whatever ya call it on my cranks. Everything else, palomar. Course, you already ...

Mike, If I recall, you have a Merc200 ... I think your 25 pitch tempest is just about right, if not a bit low. Before you go and dropping a pitch on the prop, you should check your motor height and water pressure ... if you're getting sufficient water pressure >15PSI), you can raise your motor a bit...

Water do not belong inside the boat. I put in the BIGGEST auto bildge I was able to find in addition to my manual one. Now I have two ... when the auto bildge goes off, I turn on the manual one as well. I leave the auto on all the time, have it hooked directly (through a fuse) to the battery.

Brent, I believe the blue tops run around $150/ea. That' more than twice the cost of the Walmart batteries. While many people will have their favorite brands for whatever reason, I generally recommend the yellow Walmart Everlast batteries to everyone who will listen. Get the series 29 batteries for $65/ea and if you take care of them (check fluids once in a while) and recharge them at the end of each fish...

If you were to buy the Optima batteries, I believe it's the blue top one for you. But from what I've heard, they are great till you run them completely dry ... then they will not charge ... this is the story from a couple of guys I know who used them in their cars. Both left the batteries in the car...

I had one before trading it for my LMS332C ... I don't recall seeing that lines you mentioned. I would suggest you call Lowrance and get a replacement or repair.

Some NADA values are listed as boat, trailer and motor separately. However, if you go by NADA values, you may never sell it.

Yes, you have to have a SD/MMC card reader. If you have a camera that uses SD or MMC card, you can use the same card reader.
