NOTE Dan’s Delta Outdoors Striper series is a catch-and-release tournament. Qualifying fish are not required to be brought to a weigh station. Prizes are awarded based on the length of the fish, which is to be submitted via a photograph taken on the boat with the supplied ruler (see specific rules and instructions that follow). The tournament is designed as catch-and-release to protect and preserve Striped Bass. Participants may certainly keep their catch for personal consumption under DFG Rules if wanted. WE ENCOURAGE Catch and release!

TOURNAMENT DAYS & TIMES. Photos of qualifying fish showing length with supplied rulers and date card must be submitted no later than 3:00PM on Tournament Days via text message, email or photo card. PLEASE NOTE: Keep original file / device used to take photo, which may be required post-submission to determine measurements in photos that may not be clear post transmission. For texting please send to: 925-278-0013, or for email please send to: DirtyDMasters@gmail.com Anglers are responsible for getting confirmation that photos were received when submitted.
TOURNAMENT QUALIFICATIONS All Teams are responsible for following all state and federal fishing and boating laws during the tournament hours. All entrants must possess valid California Fishing licenses!

Violation of these laws will disqualify your catch. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS TOURNAMENT, ALL REGISTERED ANGLERS MUST READ AND SIGN THE TOURNAMENT LIABILITY WAIVER, PRIOR TO THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT.

TOURNAMENT SAFETY ALL BOATS should monitor VHF CHANNELS 16 / 78 and act as a safety boat for all participants.
QUALIFYING FISH & PRIZES Dan’s Delta Striper series is a Striped Bass only tournament, open to recreational boats of any size. Trophies and Prizes will be awarded to the angler with the largest fish by length in each division. Fish that have been mutilated or tampered with in any way will be automatically disqualified.

Fish responsibly! The angler may submit as many fish pictures as desired but, at the end of the tournament, only the angler's largest 2 fish within the target length will be counted. In the event of a tie in any segment of the tournament, the trophy will go to the fish entered the earliest that you specified was your official entry. All participants are responsible for getting their photos to the tournament committee within the allotted time and for getting confirmation that their submission was received by the tournament committee at the time sent. All protests concerning the determination of the tournament winners shall be made to the tournament rules committee in writing. All protests must be made no later than 30 minutes after winner announcements are made.
The Committee will investigate all grievances and reserves the right to call witnesses, to question them and all parties involved. The Committee may disqualify from the Tournament (or any portion thereof) and/or from any or all future Tournaments, any person or persons who falsify information, violate the Tournament Rules, act in an unsportsmanlike manner, or falsely testify for or against any person. Participants entering the tournament agree that all decisions made by the Tournament Committee shall be final and binding in any matter requiring their action. Tournament sponsors and/or their employees entering the tournament in compliance with the tournament rules are eligible for any and all prizes. It is understood that all participants and occupants of their boats registering for the Dan’s Delta Striper Tournament do so voluntarily and at their own risk. Each registered participant agrees to release and hold harmless tournament officials, sponsors, and all others connected directly or indirectly with the said tournament from any liability, libel, slander, loss, damage, negligence, injury, harm, or death suffered by any participant during the tournament – liability waiver must be signed by all tournament participants prior to the start of tournament. The Committee can ultimately rule to disqualify for unsportsmanlike behavior.

HOW TO TAKE GOOD FISH SCORING PICTURE Taking good fish scoring pictures is one of the most challenging facets of catch-photo-release fishing. Since the picture is all the judges have to assess your catch, it is vital that you take good pictures. Good fish scoring pictures make judging easy. Our judges have years of experience catching, photographing, and judging fish in numerous catch-photo-release events and we also have a marine fisheries biologist on staff. They know how to account for poor pictures, uneven surfaces, fish in unnatural or extended positions, open mouths, pinched tails, and apply the same consistent criteria to all fish judged. Image analysis tools are also used to verify lengths, measuring devices, and image integrity. What constitutes a good fish scoring picture? • Use an approved measuring device. • Use a quality digital camera or smart phone. • The entire fish must be clearly visible from head to tail. • The fish's mouth should be closed. • Fish should not be stretched, bent, or manipulated in any way to enhance the length. The fish should be in a natural lay position. Depending on the species the measurement is to the tip of pinched tail or fork. • The picture should be taken from above the fish center. • The fish and measuring device should be on a flat surface. • The scoring marks on the fish measuring device should be clear and visible in the picture. • The unique token provided by the tournament officials should be clearly visible in the picture. • The digital pictures should be shot at high resolution to enable judges to zoom in for detailed analysis. • The pictures should not be digitally modified or manipulated (this includes editing, cropping, and resizing). The following information must be recorded: • Name of the tournament participant • Measured length of the fish • Embedded time stamp In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be the time and/or time/date that photo of the fish was submitted.
