Our Nor-Cal prostaff are using the CUC77H. They seem to really like it. We may work on a specific rod for this application soon. The handle length may need to be changed slightly, but the action is just about perfect.

That will work too. Make sure you either grind all the "teeth" off the jaws, or wrap them with a lot of tape to prevent damage to the spool shaft.

Re: Shimano Caenan??
We have a special press in our repair department to press this pin in and out. You can modify a pair of pliers by grinding half of the jaw off on one side. This way you can press the pin. Use a small pair of side cutters to finish pulling the pin out.

Re: stella question
That is the problem. The line machine is not going to stack the line like the oscillation speed of your reel. Let all the line out behind the boat and wind it all back on while moving slowly on the trolling motor. This will place enough tension on the line. Your problems should go away.

Re: stella question
What model Stella 3000 do you have? How did you spool the reel with line? Did you do it, or did you have a tackle shop do it?
The spool shims only control the line lay on the spool. Adding or removing washers will not correct line twist issues.

The reason for the increase in cost is because of the poor exchange rate of the US Dollar against the yen. When the Curado E was first offered the exchnage rate was about 110 yen to the dollar. Now its about 80.

What plastic nut are you talking about? The handle nut is aluminum. It might be stripped if you over tightened it. The nut cover prevents the nut from backing off. The only explanation is a stripped nut or the drag star was nit tightened down enough to tighten the nut correctly.
