Re: Who keeps a fishing Journal?
Im interested in the deffinition of "Nostalgia Fishing" ??? I guess guys like Rick Clunn, Kevin Van Dam, Mike Ike and most of there peers are "Nostalgia Fisherman" since they recommend keeping a journal or log of your fishing trips.

Re: Who keeps a fishing Journal?
The trick to keeping a log is not to rely on it for what worked this time last year or didnt work. IMO it is more to keep track of what worked under certain weather conditions/tides/water temps. Sometimes however it does not matter what you do or how much you prepair the fish just might not want to ...

Try harder, it will improve your fishing and make you more aware of what worked when and where and why, which in the long run helps you to establish your best lure choices under the right circumstances.

It is most like for the construction of the new folsom spillway. This project is going on now for a year or two and gonna help to maintain the water level in the lake. No more decisions to be made by the weather man and how much rain is comming, now they will be able to let the spillway do the job w...

There is a few spots in the Sac area that are about an hour away and area great for small boats. Collins lake in the Browns Valley area, Lake Englebright in the Penn Valley area are the two I would hit. Lots of fish and easy acces from the ramp for instant fishing!!

I have a ton of the BPS Stick-O's mostly cause of the price and they work. Not as limber as a Senko but they also last twice as long. The 6 and 7 1/4" versions are great and they have a ton of colors in the bigger sizes. The 6 and 7 1/4 are killers on CL.

You dont need the tool in all cases but the two O-Ring method (crossing them and then run your hook thru the cross) works great and keeps the hook perpindicular to the worm. in some cases you will loose your senko but still get your rings back.

I use the BCR855 for the same applications. It is a heavier rod but it has great action. If you use the right jig (Pepper Jigs are my Choice) you can flip em pitch em and shake the heck out of em all with just one jig. The 855 has never let me down.

what do power poles do for 1500 clams They are a hydrolic pole that when not in use sticks up about 1 1/2 feet above the motor on one or both sides. When in use the pole scissors open and down into the water holding you boat in position, kinda like an anchor. http://www.foreandaftmarine.com/PP-main...

I agree that some lakes are in need of some "selective harvesting" but those fish right around 2lbs are prime breeders, and if your going to remove some, take the little guys, it might take more to make a meal but better for the fishery in the long run.
