When fishing the bama rig I prefer a slower 5:1 ratio reel for fishing it deeper and slower...helps the rig stay deeper better. But if I want to toss a smaller and lighter rigs I use the 6:1 reels. It's all preference.

Elite 7x, is a Down Imaging unit. It will give you the pics downward only. If you are looking for a side scan you would need a different graph.

i have gone down and went through the Anglers Inn on the lake. it was by far the best I have ever been treated at any fishing resort I have been. The guides are great and the service is amazing at the resort. Fishing was fantastic as well.

and with the water levels that stay SO consistent at Castaic and Pyramid, its hard to tell if there are mussels there as nothing is drying up. I pray they aren't infested as it would cause even more problems.

Casitas water district cares about their water output and what would happen if it was destroyed by the mussels. it's ridiculous they are taking these measures. they aren't going to stop mussels if they are to get in the lake. A bird can take a dump and then its started! :roll:

Casitas water is directly fed from rain water and snow melt from the Los Padres National forest. There is NO delta water feeding Casitas. CASTAIC and Pyramid are fed from the aquaduct.

If you'd like to find quaaga mussels in any of these lakes simply take 4 tires stacked on top of each other tied up and drop into lake by launch ramp in 20 feet of water with a marker buoy , let them ferment for 2-4 weeks remove and inspect. I'll bet there even in Casitas. Has any agency done this,...

we will see if the other lakes will follow suit and tighten down a bit on their inspections. I have a feeling a lot of guys didnt get inspected in time for the Casitas circuits starting in a week or so.

just means the lifeguard boat hasn't moved in a LONG time and its been brought in for a while. The Piru inspections were pretty sad if you ask me.

Casitas just automatically went to 28 quaratine for ALL boats that leave. 10 day is gone.

I use the under armour gloves that KVD uses. They are very light weight and easy to fish with. They keep the wind off so you aren't as cold.

It's low guys, but I've been fishing this my entire life, 30 years and I've seen it lower and it filled up. Sadly, without rain we are in WAY worse shape. But now I'm fishing totally new stuff in the lake and its super fun. :D

couldn't tell you why because I won't do it! I have spent $75 for a bait and felt dumb doing it. I think its an addiction like a lot say. It's a situational thing for me. I love to use this when the fish are DEEP and inactive. I will check a spot when it seems they should be there... ususally those fish appear once I turn it on.

I love the competition and spending time on the water with my old man. We even compete with each other in our derbies. IN all that I do I like to compete and try to be the best. obviously I need to win some cash to sustain my fishing but competition is the reason.
