I dont know the exact weights at Lay Lake this year at the classic, but from what i seen i was pretty tough there, could the Delta be any worse??....just throwin that out there. kvd won the three day classic with a total weight of 51-6. hackney led the duel on the delta after three days with 57-5. ...

i use goretex rain pants but also wwar a parka, as opposed to a jacket, for the extra length and coverage. so far that has worked buuuuuut i'm gonna buy some bibs when i can afford them.

i screwed around with the machine last night. the new insight chip did NOT give me the 3-d imaging. yes, i had shaded relief, or whatever it is called turned on. the chip DID give better contour lines than the built in enhanced base map though. guess i'm "stuck" with 2-d. :cry:

Make sure you select "shaded relief" from the chart options page and not "2D" mapping! If you do in fact have a unit with Insight USA mapping then you should have the Shaded Relief without the sd card the rep gave you. The newer HDS units with Insight USA mapping have faulty sof...

Say that again most of the new hds units from lowrance come with the "insight" high definition maps built into the unit but not every lake is of insight quality. the insight maps are supposed to have extra high definition and 3-d topography .... even better than the premium navionics and ...

long story .... but the local lowrance rep just gave me the sd card with the insight maps on it. question .......... are there any local lakes that actually have the insight info, i.e. all the 3-d graphics that lowrance shows on their site?

one of my favorite flipping, pitching, punching rods. can be used for punkers and other swimbaits but i really like it best for flipping and pitching.

my son and i saw one at san apblo reservoir two years ago. first one in the wild for either one of us. he/she landed on a tree near the shore so we toodled over there and watched it for several minutes. super cool!!!!

i just received my hds-5 on wednesday and used it yesterday. i had a lms-522c that lowrance couldn't repair and, after 5 months, they finally sent me the hds-5 instead. in any case, the screen on this one, i believe, is the same size as the one that was on my lms-522c. i, for one, did not notice any...

my wife does not feed my fishing habit but my son does (since he's more of a fishing addict than i am). :D anyway, he gave me a new redheaded/blackbodied snagproof frog to replace the one i threw into a tree along with "bass .... the movie"

The prop is a lot like the MK weedless wedge. I noticed it cut the weeds in small pieces rather then let the weeds wrap around the prop and tear them. It also gives you much more torque and longer batter life. hi gene, thanks for fixing my motor guide (twice). i have an "older" 36 volt/81...
