With the winter period closing down it's final phase in preparation for the upcoming spring, and the boat/sportsman expos serving to keep "cabin fever" at manageable levels, the time is right for you and your partner to start thinking about a strategy for this year's 7-event tour.
Last year's tour was very successful, with attendance for teams in the 100's for just about all events. As we embark on the coming year with even more incentives and excitement for our anglers, the Future Pro Tour is sure to see even larger fields!
The Future Pro Tour is an amateur level team circuit that offers a great opportunity to learn the basics of competitive bass fishing, meet lots of great people, and just have fun. Our goal simply put, is to provide a venue in which entry/amateur level anglers can improve on their bass fishing skills in a friendly yet competitive environment. Requiring only a nominal entry fee, we encourage all participants to share information, and be part of making our events a fun experience for all.
The Future Pro Tour is a team format and features 2 divisions - Div I (0-90hp) and Div II (91hp and above), where anglers in each division fish for that division's prize money. At the end of the year, teams with the most points from each division will qualify for the end of year "Future Pro Only" tournament of champions dubbed the Future Pro Tour Classic!

This year's season opener kicks-off on beautiful Lake Berryessa, March 20th, at the Spanish Flat Resort/Marina. With water temps that warm up faster than other lakes in northern California, I'm told that the March pre-spawn bite on Lake Berryessa could be outstanding! Cabins and campsites with RV hook-ups are available at the Spanish Flat Resort/Marina for this event, at a substianal discounted price to Future Pro Tour anglers. You need to book now however, as come game day, they are sure to be long gone! Call the Spanish Flat resort a (707) 966-7700 to make your reservations, and be sure to tell them you are fishing the Future Pro Tour event so you can receive the special discount.
The day prior to the event (Friday, March 19th), from 4:00-6:00pm at the marina store, there will be a free seminar given by top Ranger pro and Berryessa Guide Jim Munk. Team Shimano's Terry White and Rob Reihl one of northern California's top pro teams will also be on site to give valuable tips on fishing Berryessa in the spring. All are welcome to attend this free seminar, even if you are not fishing the event. Last year, on the advice of Jim, winners Mike Kubula and Lon Winburn, used a Lucky Craft pointer minnow rip-bait to land a huge largemouth that weighed almost 13lbs!
For those that can't make the pre-registration/seminar activities on Friday, registration will be available the day of the event at the ramp from 400am to 615am.
