Novato, Calif. – The list of names on the Powell Rods Pro Staff continues to grow, and Keith Bryan, the President of Powell has added yet another top notch angler to the Powell Pro Staff. Powell is pleased to announce the addition of 2006 U.S. Open Champion Scott Nielsen, of Salt Lake City, UT to the Powell Rods family.“I am very excited to be joining a pro staff like the team Keith has put together,” Nielsen said. “I am really happy with Powell rods, they have improved my fishing already, and I look forward to getting more and more comfortable with them, and seeing how I can use them to expand on what I do on the water.”
Not only is Nielsen an asset to Powell as an angler, but he brings a unique view to the business as well. Nielsen is the founder of Sportsman’s Warehouse, a large, and growing outdoor sporting goods store, and a Powell dealer. “Though my years at the store, I was able to get familiarized with quality products; and Powell rods certainly are that,” he continued. “I am also looking forward to doing what I can to help with the development of Powell’s distribution channels where I am needed.”
Bryan is equally as excited to have a person of Nielsen’s caliber join the Powell family. “Scott is a quality person,” said Bryan. “We are excited to work with him, as he brings a lot of experience to the team, both on the water, and in the business world; people like him help grow the Powell brand, and we are pleased to have him.”
