2012 Berkley/Sebile Big Bass Challenge Tournaments are
Announced
The Berkley/Sebile Big Bass
Challenges are bass fishing’s version of “Texas Hold Em,” for amateur
fishermen. This unique format matches angling skill with a weigh-in strategy.
Anglers can weigh-in a single fish each hour to try to earn a portion of the
hourly payouts, which also places them in contention for the grand prize(s).
There is, however, one catch to the
tournament. Anglers are only allowed to fish with Berkley and Sebile baits. The
Berkley Experience Trailer will be onsite at both tournaments to help anglers
with bait selection along with the supporting retailers having hot promotions.
The 3rd Annual South Carolina
Berkley/Sebile Big Bass Challenge on Lake Murray hosted by Fishers of Men is
set for October 13th. This is a one day tournament with 6 hours of payouts and
a grand prize of $5,000 guaranteed to be awarded.
The 7th Annual Texas Berkley Big
Bass on Lake Fork hosted by BassChamps is set for October 20th -21st (http://www.basschamps.com/basschamps/berkley.cfm
). The original 2 day event has 14 hourly payouts and also awards 2 boats for
over $100,000 in cash and prizes.
“The tournaments are a unique way to
expose amateur anglers to a wide variety of Berkley and Sebile baits in a fun
format,” said Andrew Marks, Marketing Director for Berkley. “Anglers not only
have to contend with what type of bait to throw, but there’s also the added
strategy of when to weigh in your fish. This format gives a unique twist on
traditional tournaments without professional anglers in the field, and gives
everyday anglers an opportunity to win some cash with one fish.”
