Corona, Calif. – Accurate Fishing Products, known for its patented TwinDrag® reels, has introduced a new 300-size single-speed reel that's unbeatable for inshore and light-action offshore applications – the BV-300 Valiant. The first of Accurate's "New Technology," reels, the BV-300 boasts an innovative design that minimizes size and weight while maximizing strength, durability and fish-fighting power. Built with shallow-water jigging in mind, the BV-300 is also ideal for live-bait coastal fishing, snapper fishing around reefs, jigging for silver salmon, or targeting school-sized tuna, yellowtail and dorado.
The unique curvature of the BV-300's rugged 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum body gives this compact, extremely lightweight reel the structural integrity of models twice its size. Basing the BV-300's design on the original premise of the Roman Arches or Domes used in early architecture, Accurate has been able to create a significantly stronger reel using less material. While the BV-300's walls are thinner, its non-flexing frame and side plate enable it to withstand more stress than similarly sized reels. The BV-300 weighs in at just 9.9 ounces, yet it's capable of taking on surprisingly large saltwater adversaries.
Accurate has also managed to fit the drive train of a bigger reel perfectly into the BV-300's small profile. It also features a deeper, wider spool than any other reel in its class, ultra-strong, high-precision stainless steel gears, 9 ABEC 5 class ball bearings, a blazing 6:1 gear ratio, and a comfortable power handle that makes it easy to winch in the most determined game fish. Put quite simply, the BV-300 offers performance that's as close as you can get to a two-speed in a single-speed reel.
The BV-300 also incorporates a new Accurate feature – an easy-find "Cam Stop" at strike. Instead of having buttons at free spool and strike, the BV-300 has a secure indent in the Drag Cam that stops the drag lever before going into full. This useful feature offers a fail-safe during the heat of battle, preventing the angler from going too far into full drag.
