Bajio Gift Guide
Bajío (pronounced bah-hee-oh) continues to make waves in the fishing world. Since they launched the brand, they have quickly become a popular choice for sunglasses for bass fishermen and those who target many other species. A quality pair of sunglasses is a universal need for anglers.
This holiday season, there are several options for an excellent gift, whether for the angler in your life or for yourself. Choose from great sunglasses, clothing, or something that will give back to our waters.
Many Sunglass Options
When selecting sunglasses, the fit is one of the most important things. Bajío has something for everyone with different sizes that comfortably fit various head sizes. Their sunglasses come in different frame colors and lens tints with LAPIS technology that blocks much of the blue and yellow light. They are all available in polycarbonate and glass lenses for $199 and $249, respectively.
Here are a few of the different sunglass options for different sizes. Depending on your style and wants, there are also choices with a wrapped design and more open sides.
Palometa is a medium frame size that is lightweight and made from bio-based nylon. They are similar to the Bales Beach (large fit) in a smaller frame size. These two frames are great for anglers who want full coverage, a comfortable fit, and a wrapped design. There are options for different lenses for both; either would make a great gift for any angler. The cost for these two is $199 for polycarbonate lenses and $249 for glass.
Two other solid options are the Piedra and Vega. Both are classic fishing sunglass styles with a wrap-around design that blocks light from all sides. The Vega is a large size with a square design, but the thicker frames help with comfort and light blocking. Piedra is a medium fit with wide temples and a more rounded look than the Vega, but it shares the same comfortable qualities, including rubber temple tips and nose pads. Both come in different lens and frame colors and are available in polycarbonate ($199) and glass ($249) options.
For a look that can go from "the flats to the fiesta," as Bajío says, a style like the Chelem and Caballo is a good choice. Their open design and flat front section are stylish but feature the same excellent lens clarity and options anglers need to succeed on the water.
The two are similar, with Chelem being a medium fit and Caballo being an extra large size. Chelem is $199 for polycarbonate and $249 for the glass version. Caballo is the same cost.
Women's Options
Many of Bajío's frames are unisex and can easily be worn by either gender, but some are more feminine and would be a big hit for the woman in your life. Aside from just different colors and styles, the glasses are still of excellent quality with Bajío's LAPIS technology.
One good choice is the Cometa, a medium-framed pair of sunglasses made from bio-based nylon material. They come in both glass and polycarbonate lenses and seven different lens colors. The frames are available in claret, amber tortoise, and pink to give plenty of other options. The retail cost is $199 for the polycarbonate version and $249 for the glass lenses.
Another choice is the Limited Edition Balam frames with a coral reef finish and seven different lens colors. With each purchase, Bajío will plant one coral colony in Mexico. They are $199 for the polycarbonate version and $249 for the glass lenses.
Clothing
Aside from great sunglasses, Bajío has some great clothing options. They're stylish, show off the brand, and some items are for a great cause. The collection includes long and short-sleeved shirts and several unique hat designs.
The "Xcalak Rooster" shirt is a way to give back to the beaches of Xcalak, Mexico. The area is notorious for trash washing up on the shores from cruise ships and for each shirt sold, $10 will go towards beach cleanup.
Shop For The Shallows Promotion
Bajío is big on giving back, especially when it comes to the environment. This holiday season, from November 1st through the end of 2022, the "Shop For The Shallows" promotion is live.
Buy a pair of sunglasses for yourself (or as a gift for someone) and get a free gift. The gift is a camp cup with unique and original artwork. There are five versions and each supports a different cause, pick the one you want to help. These include ocean trash cleanup, beach cleanup, mangrove planting, oyster planting, and coral reef restoration. Each of them is a worthy cause.
There are some great gift options from Bajío that include their well-regarded sunglasses as well as stylish clothing options. Add in their giving back and there are even more options for the perfect gift this year.
