"This is so big for us because we are still a relatively new program. We are just in our 3rd year of competing and the recognition this would bring to our school and our team would be huge. We couldn't be happier!" said Bryan College Coach, Michael Keen.

There are still 15 sanctioned-events that qualify for Cabela's School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia which means that the title is still up for grabs. A pair of key Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Series event yet to take place in the near future are the Texas Collegiate Challenge, and the most prestigious event in college fishing, the 2017 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Presented by Cabela's.
