Casitas Night Tournament Series Continues

OJAI – Coming off a tough series opener last month, the second installment of the 2003 J&T Tackle Night Team Tournament Series will take place on Saturday evening, July 26th at Lake Casitas.

Although many teams found the fishing to be somewhat tough at last month’s series opener, there were a dozen fish over five pounds brought to the scales, including two fish over ten pounds. In fact, it took a 9.37 pounder just to make third Big Fish. Sean James and Tim Grinolds of Simi Valley won that contest with an outstanding 5-fish limit weighing 35.89 pounds. Their limit included a 10.65 pounder, the largest of the tournament.

For you nostalgia buffs, it was at last July's J&T Tackle Night Team Tournament Series event where James and Grinolds set a new all time series record winning weight with their phenomenal 46.06 pound 5-fish limit. The pair went on to nearly repeat this incredible winning weight one month later with a 41.84 pound limit.

The entry fee for the July 26th Lake Casitas night tournament is $125 per team and there will be four side option pools available; a $20 Big Fish option, a $10 and a $20 Top-3 option, and the popular $20 "All American" option. All options will be paid back 100%. There is a 125-team limit for the tournament and the starting order will be determined by a random drawing at the 5:00 PM meeting. Late sign-ups (space permitting) will be accepted at the Lake Casitas snack bar on Saturday afternoon, July 26th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. No entries will be accepted after 5 p.m., or once the 125-team field is filled - no exceptions. The remaining series events will be held on August 16th and September 13th.
