KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The BAM Super 60 Pro Tour wraps up the 2025 season with one final slugfest, the year-end championship showdown takes place November 14-16, at California’s big-bass factory, Clear Lake, hosted at Konocti Vista Casino, Tackle Warehouse and conservation sponsor Fisherman's Warehouse.
Thirty-two of the West’s best will converge on the legendary big bass waters to compete in a hybrid format that blends traditional five-fish limits with a keeper count / scorable bass twist. When the dust settles, only the top-10 will survive the final day field cut, zero out their weights and throw down on Championship Sunday for a shot at a $65K Mercury-Powered BassCat payday.
With no official practice and a 28 day off-limits, the three-day pro-only event is going to come down to who can unlock the Clear Lake bite the fastest. For Bryant Smith of Roseville, Calif., that all hinges on what Mother Nature decides to throw at ’em.
“Clear Lake is fishing good but it’s still hard to say,” he said. “In the fall, nicer weather makes it tougher, because the fish scatter; but if it gets cooler, like after those first couple cold fronts with lows in the 30s, they will start to eat really good and that could happen anytime, even as close to the night before the event, so there is plenty of time.”
Fishing The Conditions: Cool Vs. Warm
If conditions hold steady, Smith is opting toward a power-finesse mix. He’s calling his shots with a football jig, Strike King Filler Worms on a dropshot, and a Strike King Fat Baby Finesse Straight Tail on a Frenzy Baits Nail.
“In this case, I know I will bounce around more, because the fish will be more scattered,” he said.
If those fall fronts start to roll through and the mercury drops, Smith’s switching gears to pure reaction mode. His lineup includes a lipless crank, spinnerbait, Strike King Red Eyed Shad, plus the heavy hitters, the Strike King 6XD and 10XD.
“If this is the situation, once I find an area, I will stay and lean on them,” he said.
Smith anticipates any part of the lake could play and believes the winner will be the guy that uses the entire lake.
“There will be schools everywhere on the lake,” he said. “Forward Facing Sonar is the X Factor. Guys that lean on the minnow-style bait on the Clear Lake may catch ‘em but we are fishing at the time of year when you can fish what you want.”
Weight Predictions
Smith anticipates the winning weights will average 22- to 24-pounds a day.
“That is solid in nice weather; but if it’s cold, we could see some bags in the upper 20s and low 30s,” he shared.
And he’s predicting a tank will hit the scales.
“I think there could be one (double-digit), if not, I think there will be one that is really, really close,” he said. “Clear Lake has been pumping’ out some good ones this year. In the fall they are fattening back up and feeding heavily, and Clear Lake is a place that there is always that opportunity.”
Bass fans can cheer on their favorite angler at the Konocti Vista Casino or tune in daily to BAM socials or website for each of the three competition days.
