Sacramento,
CA- Restore the Delta (RTD), opponents of Gov. Brown's rush to build Peripheral
Tunnels that would drain the Delta and doom salmon and other Pacific fisheries,
today released a video shot by a Courtland resident who attended the
administrative office hours the Brown Administration held at the Courtland
Library on August 27th. The "office hours" were advertised as an
opportunity to get answers to Delta landowners' concerns. Restore the Delta
encouraged our supporters to attend and to ask questions of the Brown
Administration, such as:
•Will
construction cross or interfere with agricultural delivery canals and drainage
ditches on my farm?
• How long
will my farm be without water?
• Which
months will my farm be without water?
"The
video demonstrates an appalling lack of information, as the Administration did
not have answers to simple questions, such as, 'where will the water go?'"
said RTD Executive Director Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla.
"Would this video reassure you if you were facing devastating negative
impacts of Gov. Brown's peripheral tunnels on Delta farms, businesses and
homes?"
