‘FLW OUTDOORS’ TV SHOW HIGHLIGHTS WAL-MART FLW TOUR SEASON OPENER ON LAKE OKEECHOBEE

MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 2, 2004) — Coming Feb. 15 on “FLW Outdoors,” 10 of the world’s best bass anglers are in the spotlight on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Fla., site of the first stop on the 2004 Wal-Mart FLW Tour. Rookie winner Ray Scheide, who took home the tournament’s $100,000 first-place cash award, will be profiled, as will final-round pros David Dudley of Manteo, N.C.; Chris McCall of Jasper, Texas; and Larry Nixon of Bee Branch, Ark.

This week’s program will feature the excitement of the nail-biting final weigh-in, as Scheide and McCall, who lost his mother after the first day of competition, battled it out for the top prize. The shoot-out-style weigh-in further enhanced the drama, as neither Scheide nor McCall, a second-year FLW Tour angler, had an FLW Tour win to his credit.

Castrol pro Dudley, no stranger to the winner’s circle, claimed third in the FLW Tour’s season opener to continue a hot streak that began last September, when he earned $500,000 cash as winner of the 2003 Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship. Perennial contender Nixon, who hosts an “FLW Outdoors” wrapup show following each tournament, led on day one and finished ninth to add another top-10 finish to his résumé.

The Outdoor Life Network broadcasts “FLW Outdoors” every Sunday from 1-2 p.m. EST and again on Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. EST. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area.

During each tournament show, “FLW Outdoors” television hosts Carlton Wing and Taylor Carr will go on location to provide on-the-water coverage. Tournament weigh-ins are broadcast live at Wal-Mart stores throughout the country and tape-delayed on “FLW Outdoors” by three weeks to bring audiences nationwide the best tournament footage possible throughout the season.
