‘FLW OUTDOORS’ TV TO RECAP EVERSTART SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP ON OLD HICKORY LAKE

MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 6, 2003) — This week on “FLW Outdoors” television, watch as some of the world’s best anglers compete for the top prize of $25,000 cash and a Ranger boat at the EverStart Series Championship. The championship – having concluded Nov. 1 – takes place on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin, Tenn. Anglers try to overcome difficult fishing conditions that saw only two of 150 pros catching five-fish limits on opening day.

Co-hosts Carlton Wing and Taylor Carr talk with some big names that made the 20-angler semifinals including Kellogg’s pros Clark Wendlandt of Cedar Park, Texas, and Jim Tutt of Longview, Texas. Also in the top 20 are Fujifilm pro Wesley Strader of Spring City, Tenn., and Banana Boat pro Kevin Vida of Clare, Mich.

Attempting to win his 10th FLW Outdoors tournament in less than two years is Tony Christian of Hull, Ga., whose hot streak includes a win earlier this season at Lake Martin in the EverStart Eastern Division. The exciting, shootout-style weigh-in comes down to Christian and Dick Shaffer of Celina, Ohio, with a single fish deciding the outcome.
