District 1 Councilwoman Thelda Williams partners with AZGFD to give away youth licenses to first 25 registrants
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Game and Fish Department, along with the City of Phoenix and the Phoenix Police Department, will provide a morning of free family fishing fun Saturday at Cortez Park from 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Youth licenses will be given out for free on a first-come, first- serve basis to the first 25 individuals, ages 10-17, who register during event hours.
The event is open to all ages, and children under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
In addition, staff from AZGFD's Sport Fishing Education Program and volunteer instructors will be on hand to answer your angling questions.
Anglers can bring equipment, but loaner rods will be available. Participants who register at the AZGFD booth will be provided bait and will not need a fishing license during the hours of the event.
Cortez Park is located at 3434 West Dunlap Ave. in Phoenix.
