Get to Know Daiwa J Braid

Daiwa Fans - Have you ever wondered what the right line was for your setup? What the differences were between styles of braided line? Well we wanted to help. Here are a few key features about J-Braid x4 vs x8.

J-Braid x4 - Is best used in saltwater and for catching big game fish. x4 is 4 strands woven tight at a steep angle making it stiff. This stiffer line allows for improved knot strength, cuts through vegetation like: kelp, sargasso and eel grass. It helps reduces wind knots and best of all increases abrasion resistance. J-Braid x4 is best used on baitcasting and conventional reels.

J-Braid x8 - Is best used in freshwater and in-shore applications. x8 is 8 strands woven together at a less steep angle for smoothness. This softer line helps for using small baits and allowing better action in the water and movement of your baits. It casts small & light weight baits farther as well as having superior knot strength to-weight ratio. J-Braid x8's low friction helps make your casts through the rod guides quieter and is a better line overall for spinning reels.
