Guatemala — You Owe it to Yourself

Guatemala — You Owe it to Yourself

Sorry if this is becoming repetitive, but we’re still on a high from our November trip to Casa Vieja Lodge, when our group of five first-timers landed a ridiculous 81 sailfish in three days. We can’t guarantee that you’re trip will be quite that productive (although, to be fair, there’s at least some chance you’ll catch MORE than that) but we can guarantee that you’ll get a first class experience on the world’s best sailfish waters, on the country’s best fleet.

I’m happy to send you down there any time, but our next hosted trip is scheduled for February 14-18, 2026. We already have two boats fully booked, and a returning couple looking for two anglers to join them on a third boat. After that, there are only a few boats left. Yes, even a year out, they’re already starting to fill up. It’s that good, and that popular — and one of the best values in international fishing travel. You owe it to yourself to check this place out, and we’d love it if you’d join us down there to make it even more festive. Don’t delay — email me asap if you want more information. Otherwise the boats may all be taken.

This is the perfect trip for hardcore anglers, families and non-anglers alike. We’ve gone there in the past with two couples where the wife professed not to fish — they were just there for the sun and the great service — but when their turn came on the rod suddenly they were all-in. It’s addictive. And if they don’t want to go on the boat all three days, there’s the option of a spa day or a trip to Antigua.

New Boat!

Amazingly, Casa Vieja continues to expand their fleet. We’ve been fortunate to fish off the Finest Kind and the Hooker. We’ve had friends on the Pica Mas and the Makaira. Now there’s a 10th boat, the Isla Mas, a 43’ Merritt (it may soon be renamed). Check it out and see if that’s the right boat for you!
