FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 20, 2013
Agoura Hills, Calif. - Bassmaster Elite Series rookie Kevin Hawk has joined the iRod pro staff for the 2013 season. Hawk, the 2010 Forrest
Wood Cup Champion has won over $705,000 in his FLW Tour career in 34
professional events, including his $605,000 Cup victory. Hawk has also
won over $32,000 in nine BASS Open events on the way to qualifying for the 2013
Elite Series.
Matt Newman of iRod
Fishing has high hopes for Hawk. Newman expressed, "Kevin has proven he
can win big events. He has incredible work ethic and a drive to succeed.
Even though he'll be a rookie on the Elite Series in 2013 I know he'll do very
well."
Newman also commented on how the
deal came about, "Last year, when Kevin was fishing the FLW Tour he called
to talk to me about being on staff. At the time, I wasn't adding staff,
but we really hit it off. He expressed his interest in qualifying for the
Elite Series and I told him, when he made it I would add him to the
staff. It just goes to show you the kind of person Kevin is, he put his
mind to making the Elite Series and less than 12 months later he accomplished
that goal."
Hawk believes in iRods
as well. He stated, "I've been using iRods for
over a year now. From the first time I held an iRod I
knew these were the rods I wanted to fish. I'm anxious to get the 2013 Elite
Series season kicked off in a few weeks and start loading the boat with my iRods."
