Johnson Outdoors Watercraft Outfits Several Kayak Models With ACS2 Seat System

OLD TOWN, ME — Johnson Outdoors Watercraft, makers of Old Town®, Ocean Kayak® and Necky® has developed ACS2™ – a specialized, fully-adjustable seat system for many of their kayak models. ACS2 stands for Active Comfort System 2 and is unlike any other watercraft seat on the market.

As Marketing Communications Manager Luke LaBree points out, "No two paddlers are the same, so you can't have a one-size-fits-all stationary seat. Customized adjustability is key, and the ACS2 delivers that in a unique way." ACS2's adjustability is fast, easy, intuitive and requires no tools.

The world's most comfortable kayak backrest fits most people right out of the box without adjustments. If paddlers want to raise or lower the backrest, they hand-loosen the seat lock on the rear of the backrest, then raise or lower the backrest to the desired height and re-secure the lock. This adjustment is performed while outside the boat.

Then the seat pan height is adjusted by simply pulling up on an adjustment handle. To lower the seat pan, the paddler engages an integrated release cord. Finally, a lumbar cushion is adjusted by pulling dual lumbar straps for more support; or depressing twin release tabs for less lumbar. "It's three quick steps to the perfect fit for any paddler," LaBree says.

ACS2 also combines modern, attractive styling with supreme comfort. Premium padding is sculpted with performance fabrics to create flow-through ventilation that keeps paddlers cool in hot temperatures. The ventilation allows the seat to dry very quickly if wet.

The innovative, adjustable ACS2 seat system is now standard on select Necky and Old Town kayaks, including the new Old Town Loon series that debuted at the 2015 ICAST and Outdoor Retailer summer shows.
