Lowrance Anglers Dominate 2018 Bassmaster Elite at Mississippi River

Ish Monroe Wins His Fifth Bassmaster Event

Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, scored a trifecta this weekend as Lowrance professional anglers – led by Ish Monroe, who notched his fifth Elite Series career victory – took the top three spots at the 2018 Bassmaster Elite at the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Monroe, the tournament’s fourth leader in as many days, hauled in 16 pounds and 2 ouncesSunday to clinch the title with a total weight of 65 pounds, 7 ounces. Monroe finished ahead of fellow Lowrance anglers Jacob Powroznik and Randall Tharp, who took second and third place, respectively. Lowrance Pros Jacob Wheeler, Casey Ashley, Gary Klein and Wesley Strader placed in the Top 12.

“This was a unique situation with the river level rising and the fish moving back into the shallows covered in grass and duckweed,” said Monroe. “Using my Lowrance HDS Carbon I was able to spot them and bring them in. Finding the fish in these changing conditions was the key to my victory.”

“We congratulate Ish on his well-deserved win and are so excited about the continued success of all of our Lowrance professional anglers,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “Seven of the Top 12 finishers used Lowrance fishfinders to adapt to the challenging conditions this weekend and prevail over some of the toughest competitors in the world.”

Monroe won the $100,000 prize, the $3,000 Toyota Bonus Bucks Award and the Power-Pole Captain’s Cash Award of $1,000. The tournament was presented by Go RVing and hosted by Explore La Crosse.
