MI DNR seeks photos from the public for 'Ask the DNR' programs showcasing the Upper Peninsula

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is seeking recent photos from the public to show during broadcasts of "Ask the DNR" – a live, hourlong call-in show produced five times a year and broadcast on WNMU-TV13 from Marquette.
young boy holding a walleye"We want to highlight and share some of the great times people are having in the Upper Peninsula fishing, hunting, camping and otherwise enjoying the outdoors," said John Pepin, DNR deputy public information officer in Marquette.

The next telecast of "Ask the DNR" is set for 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, focusing on the upcoming firearm deer hunting season.

WNMU-TV13's broadcasts of "Ask the DNR" reach an audience including all of the Upper Peninsula and portions of northeastern Wisconsin.

The programs feature DNR staff, including wildlife and fisheries biologists, trails specialists and law enforcement officers, who answer questions from the public.

When submitting photos to the program, the sender should include:

His or her name.
The town where he or she lives.
The U.P. county where the picture was taken.
This information will be provided with the image when displayed on the program.
