WHO NEEDS A VACATION???

OK, fasten your seatbelts because there’s a lot of info in this email. I’ll try to keep it brief and to the point so you don’t lose interest, but we have LOTS of trips coming up. If you have a few extra bucks in your pocket and some vacation time to burn, one or more of these might be right up your alley. Some are great for going with friends or family, and others have single angler options, so if none of your friends are as adventurous as you are, you can still go on the fishing trip of a lifetime.

CANADA

First up is Lake of the Woods in Ontario from September 3-7. It’s a multi-species paradise — smallmouth bass, walleye, muskies and other targets abound. It’s remarkably inexpensive as far as these trips go and you don’t need any tackle of your own. Fly into International Falls (MN) and we take it from there. We had a couple back out for personal reasons, so we have one or two spots available.

After that it’s Round Three at Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge, another multispecies freak show — except this time in the salt. Tuna, roosterfish, mahi, marlin and more. Pete has become obsessed with this one and cannot stop talking about it. We’re going from November 5-11 (4.5 days of fishing). Again, singles are fine, but we have space for two anglers.

Our February trip to Casa Vieja Lodge in Guatemala for sailfish (and more) is full. In fact, most of the colder months are entirely booked down there. However, there are a few scattered openings, including some that include two (instead of the normal three) days of fishing. If you want to go, but you’re pinched for time or money, that might be a great option. Airfares are usually pretty inexpensive and there are direct flights from many US cities.

Lake El Salto and Lake Picachos in Mexico are our homes away from home. We’ve spent a couple hundred days down there over the last decade and we’ve sent many friends down that way. Most of them end up returning. We are likely only going once next year, in June. There are still a handful of rooms if you want to travel with us or I can set up a trip to one lake or both at another time.

Last but not least, we’re headed back to Bear Trail Lodge in Bristol Bay, Alaska next August. They’re so popular that many dates for next year are already reserved by returning guests. If you’ve never been to the Last Frontier, this is a true can’t-miss.

Please email me or call me at (703) 932-6299 at any time if you want to get the ball rolling or just start planning for a future trip. It doesn’t cost anything to call, and inaction may cost you the opportunity to chase the fish of a lifetime (preferably on a trip with me!). Don’t hesitate to refer friends, too — there are referral gifts that will make it more than worth your while.
