This year has been an interesting one as the pandemic has changed the way we live, but one thing that has happened is that more people are enjoying the outdoors. Boat sales have been strong, as many are opting to get outside and head to the water. The team at Redding Yamaha Sea Doo (RYS) has been busy getting people into boats and their service team has been bustling, making sure everyone stays up and running.
While manufacturing has slowed the process of getting new boats built, RYS has boats ready to go, including some 2020 models waiting for a new home.
A Busy Year
RYS Sales Manager, Ryan Tripp, can't complain about the year and says it has been good for the boating industry despite its challenges.
"It has been a little difficult getting boats, but it is starting to stabilize," he says. "The boating industry is dependent on many different factories and when one shuts down, it slows the whole process. The windshields, graphs, carpets, and latches are all made in different places and dependent on each other to get a boat built. That took the boat brands some time to catch up, but things are slowly getting back to normal."
One of the most popular segments of boats has been boats designed for families and Tripp said they have been nearly sold out of those all year long.
"Runabouts and pontoons have been selling fast and we only have one pontoon left," Tripp says. "Instead of taking summer vacations, people have been staying local and going to the lake. Bass boats have been selling well too and people are really liking the Vexus line."
While that slowed production some, Tripp says they still have several great boats in stock, including some of the popular Vexus and Ranger aluminum models.
Year-End Closeouts
One of the best times to buy a new car or boat is at the tail end of the year when the new models arrive and the leftover models are priced to sell. That time is right now and Tripp pointed at several great buys that are available for 2020 models.
"We have some great specials on aluminum boats from Vexus and Ranger," he says. "We have them from 17 to 20 feet in aluminum and also have some leftover fiberglass models. We are blowing out a Z521L with everything on it."
On the aluminum side of things, they have two 2020 BT-AVX1880 (18'10") models as well as the Ranger RT188 (18'8"). They also have some of the Vexus 2020 BT-AVX1980 (19'10") and Ranger RT 198 (19'8") in stock.
For fiberglass, they have a 2019 Ranger Z175 priced at $25,995 and a 2020 Z521L at $74,995. Both of them are priced to sell and probably won't last long.
The RYS team works hard to get the best financing they can for their customers, and Tripp said the going rate for lending on bass boats is around 5.74% at 180 months on approved credit.
Service Department
RYS has a team of service professionals ready to get you back on the water. They are a Pro Yamaha dealer and pride themselves on having exceptional customer service. They can get your engine, ATV, or anything else, Yamaha working great and lasting for years to come.

Giving Back to the Community
Recently, RYS hosted the 7th Annual Iron Soldier Benefit Ride and had over 200 signed up to participate in the event. Tripp shared that this event is something that the team looks forward to every year as it helps local veterans through a charity called Homeward Bound.
"It is a great way to get back to the community," says Tripp. "This was our best year and we exceeded our goal and had some great sponsors, including Golden Valley Bank."
This annual event will occur next October and they hope it can exceed this year's great turnout and fundraising.
