Outdoors Sportsman Group Viewers Increase Engagement with Outdoor and Sportsman Channels
DENVER – Last year, in the beginning stages of the harrowing pandemic, during a time when people were told to stay indoors, it was no surprise enthusiasts of Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks (Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network) were watching more. Surprisingly, one year later with many people able to look past the pandemic because of vaccinations and return to the outdoors, viewers were engaged more than ever with the networks during 1Q2021, marking the highest frequency in more than seven years.
Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks have seen increases in its average frequency and minutes viewed in 1Q2021 compared to last year as viewers return more frequently and are watching longer. Both statistics are up by double-digits in 1Q2021 with average frequency up 17 percent on Outdoor Channel and up 13 percent on Sportsman Channel. Total minutes viewed also are up 24 percent on Outdoor Channel and 29 percent on Sportsman Channel compared to one year ago.
“Understanding people’s desire return to outdoor activities, it’s a pleasant surprise that Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network viewers continue to engage our networks with more enthusiasm for our programming than when they were stuck inside,” President and General Manager of Winnercomm and Outdoor Sportsman Group Head of Programming Tim Cremin said. “These viewership statistics are testimony to the high-quality programming our networks continue to produce and share with our dedicated and passionate viewers.”
