Rapala's X-Rap Twitching Mullet Now in a Smaller Size

MINNETONKA, Minn.   Building on the successful debut of the Rapala® X-Rap® Twitchin’ Mullet in 2018, the brand is introducing a smaller version of the popular coastal bait for 2019. The new No. 06 model is 1-1/8-inches smaller than the original No. 8 Twitchin’ Mullet and 1/8 of an ounce lighter.

“That really fills a void for inshore anglers,” says Capt. Rick Murphy, host of “Sportsman’s Adventures” and “The Chevy Florida Insider Fishing Report”.

Featuring an aggressive side-to-side, walk-the-dog action just below the water’s surface, a Twitchin’ Mullet is a great go-to bait when inshore fish show their fins in the shallows.

“What really makes the X-Rap Twtichin’ Mullet special is a slow-sinking action that works extremely well in a foot and a half of water or less,” says Murphy.

The new No. 6 size Twitchin’ Mullet measures 2-1/2-inches and weighs 5/16 of an ounce. It’s armed with two No. 1 VMC® Coastal Black 1X Inline Single Hooks.

The Twitchin’ Mullet’s proven X-Rap attitude and flash helps trigger an attack instinct in inshore species anglers target the most. A glide-and-drop technique allows anglers to place the Twitchin’ Mullet into pockets where big fish lie in wait to ambush prey. Realistic baitfish profiles and patterns help trigger bites too.

Featuring translucent bodies and 3D holographic eyes, Twitchin’ Mullets and are available in 12 color patterns: Albino Shiner, Bone Chartreuse, Blue Sardine, Fusilier, Glass Ghost, Gold Olive, Hot Olive, Moss Back Shiner, Olive Green, Red Belly, Red Ghost and Silver.

The Twitchin’ Mullet is among several offerings in Rapala’s rapidly expanding coastal category, an exciting line-up of inshore, near shore and offshore tackle.

“No matter where in the world you chase the saltwater species you love, Rapala’s coastal lineup has something special for you,” says Murphy.
