Siren Marine Launches Sirensat Offshore

Connected Boat® leader Siren Marine has introduced SirenSat Offshore — a practical, affordable and easy-to-use way for boaters to accurately track the location of vessels anywhere in the world.

When used with the popular, cellular-based Siren MTC™ Connected Boat® System, SirenSat Offshore delivers real-time global GPS positioning and precise GPS tracking in the event of vessel theft or unauthorized movement. The SirenSat antenna also connects to two of the same wired security alert sensors as the Siren MTC system does, providing boaters the peace of mind that comes from knowing where their boat is and that it is protected by the same entry or theft sensors as it is when on inland waters. This newest addition to the Siren Marine suite of Connected Boat® services also satisfies the satellite tracking insurance requirement now required by many insurers for boats with multiple outboard engines.

Using the trusted Globalstar satellite network, the fastest update rates available, and a compact (2.5” X 2.5”) satellite receiver available through Siren Marine, the Siren Marine app fully integrates the satellite tracking option and will automatically switch from global cellular connectivity to global satellite connectivity whenever the vessel leaves cellular coverage. A change in the vessels’ track history line on the mobile app, from red (cellular) to yellow (satellite), makes it easy for users to determine when and where the vessel is being tracked by satellite. All other vessel data from the Siren Marine system will continue to be monitored and stored, for transmission to the user when the vessel re-enters any cellular service area.

SirenSat Offshore can easily be added to any new or existing MTC system without any changes to the hardware (an update to the latest version of the free Siren Marine mobile app for iOS or Android devices is required). To take full advantage of this fully integrated global satellite tracking solution, boaters just need to purchase and connect the SirenSat Offshore antenna (MRP $349) and sign up for a satellite service subscription through Siren Marine($34.90/month, billed annually). For flexible installation and easy rigging, the antenna can be hard wired to the Siren MTC but also contains its own long-life Li-Ion back up power source.

“This is a major development for our company and our customers,” said Daniel Harper, CEO and founder of Siren Marine. “From a business perspective, having satellite connectivity and meeting insurance requirements is key for our growing base of offshore users and boat builder partners. Helping people obtain the insurance coverage they need and gain the peace of mind they want has always been the goal of Siren Marine. This satellite solution is both practical and affordable for all types of boats and boat owners. Whether boaters use their boats in offshore waters or frequentremote inland lakes and waterways, SirenSat is ideal for anywhere that cellular coverage is spotty,” added Harper.

SirenSat Offshore is now available to the boating public through authorized dealers worldwide. To learn more about Siren Marine Connected Boat technology and the many benefits it brings to all boaters, contact Siren Marine at 401.619.4774 or visit www.sirenmarine.com.
