Up and Coming from P-Line

What’s New with P-Line

P-Line is well known when it comes to fishing lines. They make braid, fluorocarbon, and monofilament lines that are trusted by anglers everywhere. This year at ICAST, they did not release a single new fishing line, but they were there with some other new products.

In addition to line, they make quality tools, fishing accessories, and saltwater lures. They also make nets through their brand that is called Beckman Nets.

All of those four categories had something new for 2020.

Perfect Pegs and Punchin’ Pegs

The simple bobber stopper or rubber peg is something that bass anglers cannot live without. They serve many purposes but mainly act as a way to stop your bullet weights from sliding too far up your line when flipping, pitching, punching, and casting a Texas-Rig.

This year, P-Line has two new products to help stop your weights. They are both high-quality and easy to use.

The Perfect Peg is the standard egg-shaped design you are probably already using. They come in rings that have 20-pegs attached. One of the neat things about them is that they come in both black and Green Pumpkin.

The Green Pumpkin is a color they designed to closely match one of the most common weight and soft plastic colors out there. Using that color makes your entire rig a complete match. No longer will you use all of your black pegs and find yourself stuck with only yellow or red pegs left.

The Punchin’ Pegs feature a unique cone shape that helps to penetrate grass better and reduce the chance of grabbing more grass. These also come in a pack of 20 and they are all black.

Just because they are mainly used for stopping weights, that doesn’t mean you can’t use them for other techniques. When added in front of a swim jig, pitching jig, or even a weedless swimbait, they also help to keep stray grass away from your knot.

6.5” Aluminum Camo Pliers

Having a quality set of pliers is a must for bass anglers. They can help with many things, and it is always a good idea to have them close by. P-Line added to their plier collection with aluminum versions in two new colors: Camo and Aqua Camo.

Besides looking cool, they are lightweight and feature tungsten cutters than cut through braid and monofilament or fluorocarbon up to 300-pound test. Each set of pliers also comes with a lanyard and sheath.

Beckman Nets

The Pucci Beckman Net lineup has a net for everyone. They make giant nets capable of scooping up big salmon, steelhead, and stripers and they also have small nets for panfish and trout. For the bass anglers, they have two new net options.

The BN1720P-32 and BN1924P-42 are two new PVC nets that have a flat bottom that supports the fish while also preventing them from rolling. The PVC material helps to reduce hooks from getting tangled and doubles as a way to protect the slime coat of the fish.

The biggest plus of these two nets for bass anglers is their ability to collapse down to a smaller size for more accessible storage in bass boats. The handle slides forward in a quick and easy motion, and it downsizes to only 33” long for the BN1720P-32 and 43” long for the BN1924P-42 model.

New Saltwater Lures

If you like to get salty, you may be interested in P-Line’s new soft plastics. They came out with a new Twin Tail Squid, Twin Tail Squid Rig, and a Twin Tail Halibut Leader.

All of them feature the same look, and they are available in three different sizes: a 4.5”, 7”, and 9” version. They come in six color variations: Clear White Black Glitter, Pink Glow Glitter, Pearl Glitter, Motor Oil Multi Glitter, Natural Glow Glitter, and Green Pink Glow Glitter.

The baits have two twin tails to form the squid tentacles and a plastic skirted material coming from the midsection of the bait. They can be fished on a jighead down deep or even trolled for anything that eats squid.

The bait by itself is available in all three sizes they make, and they also have two different versions. The Twin Tail Squid Rig is just like it sounds and pairs two baits rigged on a 50-pound test leader with two 5/O hooks. The Halibut version is a single glow color rigged on either a 14/O, 15/O, or 16/O hook and it is tied with 300-pound P-Line Original Leader Material.

Even though P-Line did not release a new fishing line, they added several new items that should be great for bass and saltwater anglers alike. Look for all of these new products at your local P-Line retailer.
